Training & Behavior
I have a puggle (beagle and pug mix) and I am trying to housebreak him, whenever I take him outside to go to the bathroom no matter how long I keep him out there right when he comes back in he goes in the house. The only time he goes outside is when I catch him going in the house. How can I get him to...

Hrms...potty issues
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Whenever I leave I put my Gingerdog in the garage. She is housebroken and all of that jazz, but lately no matter how long I'm gone for she always goes #2 on the floor (she even went on her couch once this week). Whether its 20 minutes or 6 hours, I come home to a mess. I ALWAYS let her go potty before...

Luxating Patella
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Well, Nikki has been diagnosed with Luxating Patellas. Thankfully it's not a terribly case of it, as far as they can tell from the physical exam. She doesn't exhibit any of the symptoms (other than I've noticed I can occaisionally feel her leg "pop" when I'm holding her...

We have made it small and taken out bedding. Before we put her in we take her out and most times she has done all of her business but still...

Mice!!!!
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
So this morning my boyfriend was looking in the closet for something and he opened a box to find a family of mice living in it! Now, he's the kind of person who can't stand nasty stuff and started yelling. I was asleep and woke to him dragging boxes outside. Ok so now we have a mouse problem...

My fiance just told me his mom called and their boxer, Lady, is missing!!! They think she was stolen out of the yard sometime this afternoon. His family lives near Gary, IN and are concerned that she may have been picked up as a bait dog given the likelihood of dog fighting activity in the area. They...

Romantic Relationship with Someone You Met on the Internet???
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
In the long marriage thread, a couple of people made reference to either being in a relationship or having been in a relationship with someone they met on the internet. I wonder, how common is that? Have you ever gotten romantically involved with someone you met on the net? How did it work out? Any surprises...

Free Sample Listing...
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
While I'm not saying someone should get all of these or that feeding the dogs multiple types of dog food is good.... I found this listing today of free samples of dog food. Not sure which are valid and wouldn't begin to testify as to which are quality but since I noticed a few brands that...

Does anyone have Orwell's book Nineteen Eighty-four handy? I need the quote for when it says at towards the end, where I think Winston is being tortured and they're trying to get him to agree to 2+2=5, and it says "We have always been at war with Eurasia." I need the exact quote...

My Bulldog's Nose...? Not Soft?!
Posted to:
Choosing A Dog
This is my first bulldog (a Frenchie) and today I noticed that his little nose isn't soft or cold or moist at all. In fact, it's hard and quite dry. Is this normal for a French Bulldog or other flat nosed breeds?

Our Havanese "rescue" dog, Barney, doesn't seem to want to stay in his crate past 5-5:30 a.m. He is 19 months old and we are inexperienced in small dogs (having had goldens for the past 20 years)...and we don't have a clue (except for ignoring his barks which wakes us up and we can't...
