Our Havanese "rescue" dog, Barney, doesn't seem to want to stay in his crate past 5-5:30 a.m. He is 19 months old and we are inexperienced in small dogs (having had goldens for the past 20 years)...and we don't have a clue (except for ignoring his barks which wakes us up and we can't go back to sleep) as to what to do to help make his "nighttime" a bit longer...any thoughts or solutions? He has been with us for only 3 weeks and has improved his "going out to potty" skills significantly and he also sleeps in our laundry room in his crate (which is where our goldens always slept in their crates). We will be traveling with him soon on a 3 day car trip and would like to get his schedule modified before the end of Jan!
Thanks, in advance, for your input.
Marge
p.s. I want to include a picture, but even with great instructions from rwbeagles, Barney's picture is "too big" and I don't know how to make it smaller! Sorry!
