preparing for a baby
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
My DH and I will be adopting a baby from Vietnam, we expect it to happen in the next 8-10 moths. Most of the books I have read talk about bringing the baby's clothers home from the hospital so your dog can get used to the smell of the baby before you bring it home. We won't have that option....

Agility and treats
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I was just wondering: When I'm doing agility with my pup and we are waiting for our turn, I give him little tiny treats periodically to sit, down, or whenever he watches another dog do a run and he doesn't react. He also gets little treats when he finishes his own obstacle/run. Should...

Some people have no clue!
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I have to rant here because no one else will understand what I'm talking about! My manager has no idea what she is doing with animals. She is so dumb sometimes! She claims to know a lot about snakes, but then asks me if its OK to house a ball python and a red tail boa together. NO! Then she tells me...

i know there is some controversy over whether or not michigan should be playing for the national title. so here is my ponderance... assuming florida beats osu (unlikely i know), and michigan beats usc (seems like a good possibility). does michigan have any claim to the national title? even if it is...

Are candy canes toxic?

Marley managed to eat part of a candy cane while I was cooking dinner. I did a quick search online to see if peppermint or candy canes are harmful for dogs, but could not find anything on the usual list of "no-no's". Marley did not eat the plastic wrapper (how she managed to unwrap it is...

What's Your Song?
Posted to:

Do you and your SO have a song? I always get asked this and feel so stupid because we really never have up until now. We have very different tastes in music too, so that didn't help. Recently though, I heard a song on the radio and immediately thought of him, and it turns out that he had thought...

Thinning Coat along her Spine
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I have noticed that my female Pomeranian (~4 months old) has lost some hair (or her top coat has shed, because the hair is shorter than the rest of her coat) along her spine. Is this normal? I know that they have to shed in order to get their adult coat but it seems too early for that? Maybe I'm...
