just got a king charles cavalier puppy

just got a king charles cavalier puppy last night and i have never raised a dog before. right now im keeping it at my friends' house till friday. just asking for some tips on how to keep her healthy and happy. so far she poo'd everywhere any advices and warnings will be greatly appreciated...

Haven't done anything for her birthday yet, but plan to make her favorite liver treats and get her a special toy this weekend. They did get pretty tired out playing in the snow tonight though.. Edited to add: It's her 1st birthday!!

Does anyone else hand strip their dogs? When I tell groomers that I don't clip, I hand strip, they either have no idea what I'm talking about, or ask why. Rose's coat looks much better hand stripped. It grows back in much better than if I clip her. Plus, she doesn't like the clippers...
