Overstepping boundary?

    Overstepping boundary?

I posted this morning about adopting Amber, who is a wonderful feline BTW. I spent 3 hours over at the foster mom's home yesterday. We discussed our experiences with cats in our lives, her 6 cats and the 3 siblings that she humanely caught, treated and was adopting out. This woman is amazing. She went to great lengths for these kittens and the kittens mother. The mother and kittens were living on the land behind her housing complex and she kept them fed, watered and cool throughout the summer months. She captured the kittens (now 8 month old cats) and had them vaccinated and neutered/spayed before they reached puberty. She captured the mother too. Unfortunately the mother had to be PTS. There are tons of strays in our city and she makes sure that the cats around her get fed and watered. This lady works very hard for animals in her own way and even though she had 9 cats in her house total, you never would have realized it unless you had seen all of them. All of these cats were healthy and very friendly. You can tell how much she cared about them.

Her ad in the paper did ask for a monetary amount for Amber. After everything was all said and done, she refused to charge me for Amber. I am wondering if it would be overstepping the boundaries if I were to donate food, treats and litter to her. She has done so much for the animals in her neighborhood. Any advice?

I think it is an excellent idea to donate food, treats and litter to her!!!  She's done so much for the animals around her and refused the money you were supposed to pay for Amber - I think it speaks a lot of you and I believe she'd graciously accept it on behalf of the animals.

    Ditto.
Edited to add: Maybe a gift card to your local Pet supply.

--  I totally agree!  Go for it and leave a huge bag (or cans) of food or whatever on her front porch!  No matter what, she will only be grateful, especially with her brood!  Lovely angels are these!  [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]

I think it is an excellent idea. If you don't know what supplies, food etc. she uses, I'd opt for a gift card.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family. And, the best gift of all are periodic e-mails, preferably with pictures of Amber.

I was there when she fed her brood and we also discussed brands of cat litter, so I know what to buy.

I think it'd be a great idea to donate supplies as well. It's up to you whether you want to be an anonymous giver or not.

If it were me, I would probably leave a little note thanking her for dropping the adoption fee on your new kitty, and that to show your appreciation for that and everything that she does for the animals, you wanted to donate some supplies to her. But that's just me!

I would any any coupons I could find so it would lower the cost even more. This is a GREAT thing to do!!!
