Ok, so you have all probably heard me talk about Beau on the forum. He is our 11 week old GSP. So he learned very early on to walk to the door if he needed to go potty! YEA! So we have had 1 accident here and there and for the most part only when I stopped to answer the phone, or turned away for a moment...

Lepto
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I just found out that a JRT in my neighbourhood died of lepto two weeks ago! I am so upset for the dog and the family. I'm also worried for Louise, of course. I don't remember if she's been vaccinated for this and I'm going to call the vet tomorrow, but can someone reassure me that she...

How long (maximum amount of time) can you crate a one-year-old dog? And would you rather crate a dog or tie up a dog if there is no safe space (like a yard) to keep him in?

Choosing A Dog
I know the Rupert is part rottweiler..and well thats about it. The rest I'll probably never know. BUT I was wondering if you guys could help me figure out where he got that TAIL from? I only know a couple breeds that have curly tails, but his isn't just curled..he sometimes has it looped twice...

Which is worse: Corn or wheat?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Both are suspected allergens in dogs (and cats), according to many. But which is worse? Or better, which of the two causes more problems? Are more dogs allergic to corn, as opposed to wheat, or is the opposite true? Seems like the higher up one goes in food quality, the less likely wheat makes an...

Oh Jeez, Am I Doing Right By Sally??

This is sort of dog related but sort of not too, so I put it here.... My 19 year old cousin just called me, asking for a place to stay on Christmas. See, as a high schooler she started seeing this guy who is very, very bad for her. He is verbally abusive at least, and we suspect physically at...

what kind of meat
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Just out of curiosity, what kind of meat do you put in your dogs homecooked meals? I use venison most of the time. Sometimes I use pork (fat cut off). Is it okay to use steak or beef for beef stew? Every once in a while I give him rabbit. I've done duck before, but it is so fatty. I know red meat...

I saw this on CNN today and found the link to the original article: http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/index.php?sty=80512&source=rss&dest=STY-80512 I know that here we are a community of dog lovers, but this is over the top. There really is no excuse for this behavior. --Sara
