I saw this on CNN today and found the link to the original article:

I know that here we are a community of dog lovers, but this is over the top. There really is no excuse for this behavior.

I was kind of thinking well, she might not be mother-of-the-year, but at lesat she asked someone to watch her child, albeit a stranger. When I got to the part about her concern about asking the police to retrieve her gift from the store that was being wrapped, that pretty much evaporated any "benefit of the doubt" I had been hanging on to. Her priorities are definitely askew.

Where I am from, you don't ever leave an unattended child in a car, especially of that age. Teenager, okay. When I was a kid, even when I was 10, it was okay, for a short duration, like going into a 7-11 to get sodas or pay for gas. But the child in question was a toddler, and that's inappropriate. On top of that, the valet is too busy to baby sit. Maybe it seems harsh but the authorities do need to be involved on this one.

I think if she didn't bring the dog in they wouldn't care/she would not draw attention to herself. If the kid is sleeping, and she knows he won't wake up, and there is even somebody watching him, it's not great, but I guess it's not abuse. I see five year olds in parking lots alone all the time, and when I was younger, I stayed in a car alone too. I was not neglected, I just happen to like the car [

wow, that is neglectful. i hope she gets ordered to take some parenting and child care classes. she obviously has alot to learn if she had to ask whether it was wrong to leave a 2 year old unattended in a parking lot. even if she did ask the valets to watch the child, who is to say they wouldn't do something wrong, maybe they were child predators. very irresponsible..this woman works with children?
