ok, wait! one more thing i wanna ask!!

when i catch him doing his thing, should i just praise him, wherever he goes?

because i'm thinking, he's been holding it for a LONG time now, so that must mean, that he's very very very reluctant to go in the house at all. also he's extremely sensitive to me saying no, and can sometimes become very irritated to the point, where he just gets "stuck" in the learning process. like he will tuck his tail and just not do anything when he gets like that...
or maybe just ignore it the first few times and let him do it wherever??

ok, I'd keep him tethered to you and every hour or so bring him to the box and say "go poop in the box" or whatever you want the command to be.
then, when he actually begins to have an accident... say "uh oh and in a very businesslike tone pick up him and carry him to the box, repeating your command when he is there... if he goes... praise like crazy and give cookiees liberally"
I wouldn't be negative at all... I would however move his poop if he has an accident to the box, then show him, and repeat the command.
    keep it positive :)

    ok, i'll try that...
    let's see how it goes...

also... the same goes for urine.... soak that up with a paper towel and show them it in the box where they are sposed to go.

Also... do you ahve a crate? Are you going to follow the crate training advice from the link... it seems like if they are crated and then run immediately to teh box to go... then back into the crate if they dont go and repeat... it just might work?

Also... I remember reading a trick that they use at dog shows... to get the dogs to go, they stick the end of a wooden matchstick into... well you know, just a teeny bit in and it stimulates them to go. If he really refuses to go for a while he coudl become constipated, you could try that when he is in the box, while giving the command and then shower him with praise...

sigh... I can't imagine being you right now :(

lol... ouch. let's hope i don't have to do the stick [;)]
yeah, i have a crate for him. for tonight i dont have a way of confiding him only to his crate and the "litter box" though..

don't worry about me. by now i am so exhausted i'm pretty much running on autopilot[:D]
