I had a purebred BC in rescue who had a tail like that. It was some sight. This dog was over-the-top dominant, though - as I worked with him and his attitude moderated some, he didn't do the extreme tail curl.
I had another dog here, just a couple weeks ago, whose name was "Curly". I knew the dog for a while before I worked with him, and I always wondered why the silly name - he had as slick a coat as they come, straight prick ears, just didn't seem like a "Curly". I only noticed his tail when I started messing with him! He'd even hold it in a full circle when working, though BCs aren't supposed to do that - only he'd hold it low and in a circle, really funny looking as he'd be running along with this "O" at his butt. ] His curly tail was a sign of insecurity. The more comfortable he got the less he flagged and twisted it up.
