Cat Still Hates Puppy, Can I Help?
Posted to: Training & Behavior
We are going on the fourth day having Tasha here. The day we brought her home, the cat just hid in a bedroom all day and didn't come out until nighttime when Tasha was locked in the bathroom. The next day she got curious and was hanging out with us in the other rooms but growling at Tasha if she...

Submissive Akitas?
Posted to: Choosing A Dog
Okay, my entire life, I've heard/read that akitas are always super dominant, super dog aggressive, etc. That they're always incredibly confidant, self-assured dogs, that they're inscrutable, willfull, etc. Basically, everything that Gina says about them is what I'm constantly reading...

ester-c for large-breed puppies
Posted to: Nutrition & Exercise
I've read a few suggestions that ester-c may help prevent some bone and joint problems in large-breed dogs. I also see that ester-c contains a good amount of calcium - about 100mg per 500 mg of vitamin c. Would this extra calcium be bad for a large-breed puppy? I'm not entirely sold on the preventative...

Is Your Dog a "Nosey Parker" too?
Posted to: News & Entertainment
I get really embarrassed walking my dog around the neighborhood. If we pass a parked car with someone in it, he has to stop and stare! And heaven forbid someone happens to open their front door. He will actually take a seat on the sidewalk and watch them until they leave. Even if I make him move on his...

So the dogs are being switched over to solid gold's barkign at the moon from Cal. Nat chicken/rice. Anyway, I have these rubbermaid dog food bins that hold 9lbs. I mixed 25% BATM to 75% Cal. Nat. It's going to be gone in a day or so and then I'll do 50/50 and 75/25 and then 100% batm. ANyway...

Is a growl always a growl ?
Posted to: Training & Behavior
I am wondering if my adopted Lab/Doberman is confused about her language. What first made me wonder is (yes she has a dog aggression problem) as we drive in the car, she doesn't know whether to wimper or give a throaty growl when we pass dogs. Her wimpers made me think she actually is curious about...

I am teaching one private lesson at Petco. The man is around 75 and he rescued a 1.5 year old lab. She was being left outside all the time and not fed. She has no been socialized at all. This way they will be easily noticed and also not a zillion created...and when the threads get to be too pic...
