A few years ago, we lived in a different neighborhood and knew our neighbors pretty well. They had a very handsome male Doberman, and they'd invite Axl over a few times a week to play with him.
Axl has always been GREAT about respecting property lines and never ever EVER leaving the yard under any circumstances. Because of that, he's always been allowed outside on his own...usually, he just flops down somewhere in the sun, has a nap, and comes back in.
Well, that day, I had just let Axl outside for a bit to get some fresh air. About 10 minutes later, one of the neighbors comes over and rings the doorbell. I answer, and she is CRACKING UP laughing, and she just points at her driveway....I look, and there's Axl, sitting in the backseat of their car, panting and sitting pretty and ready to go.
Apparently, Axl had seen them getting ready to go somewhere, and couldn't resist. She said he came running at about 90 miles an hour from our yard, and FLEW into their car. Then, he promptly ignored all please to exit the vehicle.
It took a whole bag of treats to finally lure him out. When he saw them leaving, I think he realized that he'd been had. He sulked for the rest of the day. [sm=biggrin.gif]
