Prime example and venting....

I was in shock the other day. I go to my aunts house frequently, she lives about 4 minutes away. While I was visiting I heard her saying that Zoey (her 10 month old "long haired" pitbull) was in heat. Don't get me wrong, Zoey is gourgeous, but I have yet to hear about a purebred long haired...

Need quick answer - panting/hot dog

We have 2 dogs, both Rhodesian Ridgeback mixes. The male is more pure than the female who is a Rhodesian/Pit mix. We noticed a problem, or at least we think its a problem, the other night with her. She was having a chew toy, both of them were, and she growled when we came near her. This is an absolute...

Bad day at the vet for Max
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I took Max to the vet today, and we did not have a good time. He didn't want to get on the scale, but I got him on it eventually. He was ok in the exam room, but he would not let them touch him. They tried taking him in the back to give him the rabies shot, but he wouldn't cooperate at all. So...

I have a great 2 year old rescue dobie who is as sweet as can be. The only problem is that he tends to be very jumpy and mouthy when playing with me and mouthy when playing with other dogs. Any ideas on how to make him stop, Very concerned about the mouthyness, Thanks!!!

NEW Pictures of my Boy!

Hey All- I decided to snap a few shots of my Red & White Sibe, Kodi, because I haven't taken any pictures of him since the day we got him about 2 months ago. He's such a handsome boy, I feel it's only just to share! On another note, Kodi obtained his Canine Good Citizen last Wednesday...

Respiratory problems - input needed?
Posted to:

I purchased an Exotic Shorthair from a breeder two weeks ago - and he is adorable. The breeder warned me that he could get an upper respiratory infection and he has - she also provided me with Clavamox (antibiotic) in case he did get sick. he is sneezing, snuffling and has mucus in his nose, but he eats...

I wasn't sure where to post this - Nutrition or Individual Breeds, but here goes. DH and I have decided to add another puppy to the family. We've put a deposit on a male Golden Retriever pup and he'll be ready to come home on the 15th. We're so excited to be getting this little guy and...

Hi everybody! I have a 2-years-old Black Labrador and I've been thinking recently on gettin' him a girlfriend. I've found this, at least here in Latinamerica (by the way sorry if my english is weird) is hard to accomplish here. There is not a "dog culture" and therefore dog parks...

Scared Jack Russell

Hi, I have a 7 month old Jack Russell who is so adorable. He has always been so social. Loves people. Tonight he is acting scared of his own shadow. I am wondering what would cause this dramatic change in him. He is running from our other Jack who is 1(female), He wont lay with me or come to me. If...

Okay, I admit this should probably be in the "dogs looking for homes" section, but I need advice. I agreed to foster what I was told a 3 year old lab mix who would "find a home soon". I didnt ask to see the dog or inquire about the group, I guess I am too trusting. Well I now have...

No not the gas stinky butt, more of a general bad or sour smell coming from his hind end. He is also walking around with his tail (stump) down. Any ideas?
