Good lookin dogs!  Man your doberman looks so bog compared to your lab!!!  Welcome!

Thanks alot, Ya he's a big boy he's about 30" in height so with him being 11 Mths. old I don't know if he'll get any taller or not. I know he's got a lot of filling out to do and with the way he eats he shouldn't have any trouble with that.

Welcome to the board.  Your dogs are very handsome.  I love the pict of your lab soaking his toes in the tub.  My boy does that too.

Oh your fur babies are very handsome. I dont see to many red dobermans but I love them! The funny thing I was bitten by one when i was younger, grew up very scared of them and my first dog was a pitbull, ha ha the irony! Obviously I'm not scared anymore but it makes me respect other people's fear of specific breeds. I met a dobie ther other day named Hank and he was the biggest goof!
Your lab sure is a shiny one huh? He is a beauty!

Thanks so much Duffy is just that, a big goof!
I can somewhat understand  peoples fears of specific breeds but I tend to believe it's only fear of what we don't know or what we see or hear on the T.V., Radio, Newspaper or Internet Etc.
Definitely some breeds are naturally more protective then others but I feel if we are responsible pet owners there would be no problems in that sense.
Obviously there are huge personality differences between my two dogs, my Lab would probably go with anything and befriend anyone or anything.
My Dobe comes to the door with me when I answer it and once he sees everything is good he'll saunter off and lay down. He's definitely being brought up with a lot of patience with having 2 small kids. He is very good with people and we're starting an obedience class to socialize him a little more and fine tune a few things.
This is definitely a breed I did alot of research on even with me growing up around them. I had to make sure it was going to be the right dog for my family, and it was definitely the right choice for us!!
Here are a couple more photos.

Hello and welcome! Beautiful doggies. [:)]

Your "lawn" looks just like ours! [&:]

Just a question, did you choose not to have his ears done? Both are pretty doggies.

I actually got him from a breed specific rescue and I took my Lab with me to make sure whatever dog I chose, would have to get along good with her. I tried a couple and then Duffy was brought out and I thought he's huge, and then she told me he was 9Mths. old.
He took to Sophie pretty well right away and stole my heart the second he came out. It definitely changes the appearance of the dog, and find they look much more intimidating with the ears cropped as opposed to uncropped. This is definitely one of those things that is just a personal opinion. It's nice to know also that if you wanted to show your dog it is no longer a stipulation to have his ears cropped. If this same dog would've had his ears cropped it definitely wouldn't have changed my mind in taking him, that's for sure! Thanks for the nice comments!

Sounds, and looks, like you made a good choice! What a great pair. I love the foot soaking pic. Mine love to swim, but bring out a dish of water to rinse their feet and they're terrified! I guess it holds the possibility of a bath...

That is hysterical you say that because my Lab loves water but after it's been raining out and she has muddy feet, I do the same with a tub of water to wash her feet and She cannot stand it [:D]
Duffy I have no idea what he'll be like with water, I've got a pool for the dogs so we'll see if he enjoys that or not. Sometimes I think my Lab. only puts her feet in the tub to prevent Duffy from getting a drink when he wants one, It's quite funny to watch.
