Brain tumor or vestibular...
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
My poor old pup, 13-year-old Brownie, is suffering from what I hope is idiopathic vestibular symdrome, but what my vet thinks might actually be a brain tumor. He thinks that because Brownie didn't exhibit any of the weird eye movements that customarily accompany vestibular disorder. Also, her ears...

Competition dogs?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Since there are so many new people here since I originally joined 3 yrs ago, I thought I'd start this up to see who's out there. What performance/conformation events do you compete in with your dogs? (Therapy work included). My dogs keep me very busy - I feel like a "soccer mom"...

odd behavior
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
When I take my dog out, it is without a leash. She runs free behind our house at the back of our property to do her 'dirty little business', and there was never a problem with her listening to my command to come with me back into the house. This worked fine for about 3 months until a few days...

Greetings! This is my first post and I am new here. My husband and I recently (as in a few days ago) adopted a puppy from a local rescue shelter. Her name is Penny and she is 10 months old. We have only had her a few days, but she is already part of the faimly and a real joy. She is doing great...

Collar alternatives?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Today when DH got home from work, Izzy had managed to get her collar into her mouth. There is no telling how long she had it that way, but he said she was thrashing around when he got here. She has done this once before when I left a brand new collar she got too loose but DH was here to help her that...

Buster's Mom
He ate a candy - what should I do ?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Buster stuck his face into my purse when I went to the front door and at one Baskin Robbins hard candy. It was chocolate-mint flavor. This isn't regualar chocolate like a hershey kiss, but a brown/green swirled hard candy. Buster is 50 lbs. I found the ingredients for the candies listed on...

Rearranging The Furniture...?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
This is not really a problem for me, but I'm curious if other peoples dogs do this also. Sierra seems to enjoy moving things around. Anything, it seems, that is movable. She moves shoes, the vacuum cleaner, the end tables, stacking stools, kitchen chairs, her bed, grocery bags, basically whatever's...

Health & Grooming
As many know, we've had some serious issues with Sassy and skin infections. Most recently (Jan - Mar) she had a staph and pseudomonas infection on her tummy that was resistant to every antibiotic we threw at it. It finally cleared up once we stopped everything, and no one knows why, but we were just...
