    Rearranging The Furniture...?

This is not really a problem for me, but I'm curious if other peoples dogs do this also.

Sierra seems to enjoy moving things around. Anything, it seems, that is movable.
She moves shoes, the vacuum cleaner, the end tables, stacking stools, kitchen chairs, her bed, grocery bags, basically whatever's in her reach that she can move.
Depending on the item, she either pushes it with her nose or pulls it towards her with her paw.
shoes - pulls them with her paw
vacuum cleaner - pulls it around with her paws
end tables - lifts them with her nose
stacking stools - lifts them with her nose
kitchen chairs - pulls them with her paw (they have a bar going across the bottom.. perfect for grip when you don't have opposable thumbs)
her bed - pulls it with her paw
grocery bags - either nose or paw

Sometimes I'll come to my bedroom notice that she's actually pulled her bed all the way from my bedroom to my livingroom. Sometimes she pulls it so that it's right in the middle of the doorway, then she lies down in it.

I find it amusing, and she seems to enjoy it. Does anyone else's dog do this?

hmmm.........I was thinking maybe in Sierra's past life she was and interior decorator and is having flashbacks when she does these things.[8D]

Send her to my house for a weekend!  I'd love to rearrange the furniture, but once I get everything where it seems to fit the best, I feel like I'm stuck with it.[:D]

Aw!!  How cute that she moves everything around.  Slick still has his puppy bed (which is TINY) and he drags it around the house all the time.  He lays in it (on it) as well!  It's very cute cause as I said it's WAY too small for him now, so he either sits on it (it's pretty much an exact fit for just his bottom) or he curls up *tight* and lays on top of it!  I find him all over the house with it.

Some kind of nesting or den preparation instinct, maybe?

Ben doesn't do this to a great extent yet but I have a feeling he might start to.  I gave him a couple of cushions to be "his" and he moves them around the room, in and out of his crate, just wherever he sees fit.  He also tips any empty containers over to see if there is anything good in them and moves the doormat down the hall.

    Just dog behaviour I guess.

    Thanks for the responses [:)]
Sierra's a bit of a goof, just the other day I had her at my parents house and she was moving my parents stacking stool around over there too [&:]..... my dad got a laugh out of it.

I have managed to harness her need for pushing stuff around though.. It was my motivation for the tricky treats ball. And I've also gotten her to open and close doors for me on command. [:)] Very useful, and she loves doing it!

Sometimes she encounters things that are fairly small, but heavy enough that she can't move it. She'll walk around, 'testing' things - pushing it really hard with her nose until her nose is squished. Then she moves to the next item. Silly Dog [:D]
