What kind of drink is your dog??
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Benedict aka Kate inspired me on this one in the photo sharing forum. What breed is your dog(s) and how would you make him/her as a drink? I'll start it off with Kate's suggestion for Beagle on the Rocks: I'd make that a layered drink....coffee liqueur, butterscotch schnapps, topped with...

Grooming a Rough Collie
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I have an almost 5 month old female Rough Collie who is kinda bald (compared to other rough collies) She wont have that super full coat in her adulthood but I still want some grooming advice so I can help her coat along. Please remember I only have WalMart, Kmart and a few so-so pet shops around....

I thought it would be fun if we all posted our favorite fun or unusual colors or markings on our doggies! Odie really only has one marking - a big ol spot on his back. I love it [sm=happy.gif]

Health & Grooming
Our dog O'shot'a was diagnosed with spondylosis 2 weeks ago and was put on prednisone . A few friends have suggested rimadyl for pain. She has trouble going outside and we assist her with a canvas firewood carrier, she will get up and get water though . She is a Rottweiler/Goldenretriever/Irishwolfhoung...

Fence Fighting
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
This may belong in Behavior or Training, but it seems like more people read this forum, and I really need some advice. I posted a reply in a barking thread last week about how Loki barks at dogs that walk past our house. (We have a 6 foot cedar fence--can't see in or out). Lately it has turned from...

Saved by a Pit Bull
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
About 10 days ago, Ben had a rather unfortunate experience with an incredibly excitable Dane and it made him terrified of other dogs, especially unfortunate since Ben had been very interested in the Dane at first and it was his first trip to the park. The Dane wasn't at all aggressive, just bouncy...

evo and an active dog
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I've pretty much decided that this fall i'm going to switch Kaiser to evo. Today i was in the pet store reading the package, and i noticed that it was low carb. Would a low carb food be acceptable for an extremely active dog? Kaiser is constantly running and playing.

Yet another help with breeds
Posted to:
Choosing A Dog
We plan to find a dog from a shelter or rescue. Odds are it will be a mixed breed but I'm trying to narrow down what breeds to look for. I want a dog that can walk. A lot. I love to walk and hike, and I'm tired of walking alone. I'm go 2-4 miles a day on a normal day. The most I have hiked...

Ok my cat passed away a couple days ago (health reasons) and we barried her in the back yard. I had no where else to put her, i thought the hole was deep enough and put some rocks over it hoping to keep the dogs from trying anything. Low and behold yesterday they unbarried my poor kitty(RIP) and i had...

target pet stuff

I have not been to Target in forever, and except for some online shopping I have not really looked at their pet supplies for awhile. Yesterday I was at the mall with my sister, and we went into Target for a few minutes. I stopped in the pet supply section to pick up some new dog toys, and I could not...

A Message From Max

I am helping my cousin search for a cocker spaniel and I found this poem at one of the rescue websites. I think is so pretty. A Message From Max (Author: J.D.Ellis 2001) My name is Max and I have a little something I'd like to whisper in your ear. I know you humans lead busy lives. Some have to...

Greta is 2 years old and has weighed 105 ppounds since about 9 months of age. The pics here are from yesterday. She spent 5 days in a kennel with lots of playtime with other dogs and came home skinnier than ever. My parents are feeding her Canadie All Life Stages and she's getting about 3000 calories...
