    Grooming a Rough Collie

I have an almost 5 month old female Rough Collie who is kinda bald (compared to other rough collies) She wont have that super full coat in her adulthood but I still want some grooming advice so I can help her coat along.

Please remember I only have WalMart, Kmart and a few so-so pet shops around. I also have the Jeffers Pet Catalogue and the Drs. Foster and Smith so I can order something from them as long as it doesn#%92t weigh much!

I would like to find some products that will help her grow a nice full (as full as her genes will allow) and shiny coat. I know diet is a big factor but I also need help on these things:

What kind of brush should I be using? Walmart sells this nice looking slicker brush but would that work or would it pull out her fur?

Will vitamins (they have some in the F&S catalogue) for the coat work? If so which will work best (of the ones available to me)?

Is there a nice smelling spray for a shiny/healthy copat, if so which brand is good? There are some stuff in Wal;mart but I maybe those don#%92t work as nice?

    Thanks!

Pin brush - For line brushing.  You'll need to teach her how to lie down patiently NOW so it's not a struggle LATER.  Separate hair into 1/2 inch sections and brush line by line down.  Then do the same thing upwards.  Then back to front.  Then turn the dog over to its OTHER side and repeat.  Do it for the front and back of the ruff as well as the pants.

Slicker brush - To finish off the top coat

Poodle Comb - For the leg feathering

Undercoat rake - For when she blows coat

I do not recommend colognes or "finishing sprays" for pet dogs, just because I feel they're unnecessary
