My dog was bitten by a brown recluse spider. He was on antibiotics for 2 weeks. It is over a month later and it seems to be just getting worse. We have been having a cone thingy on his head so he doesnt irritate it. The bite was in his groin area, and now has spread up his tummy and also to his male...

My husband has booked a camp site to take me south for Christmas. It's a very sad time of year for me (I am a widow and he is # 2, married for 5 years) and he said this year he is taking me to the sunshine. Problem is, he made camp reservations for two weeks. HELP! Now, I have a young man that house...

Barking at the Moon

Can anyone help me? I went to find some today thinking the proteins were beef and salmon. Well, the bag I found was turkey and salmon and it also had turkey and salmon meal. Have they changed the ingredient list? I didn't get it because after I got confused I got nervous not knowing what was going...

Dog Show in Perry, GA
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I didn't want to hijack mrv's thread. If anyone is in GA or the surrounding area, there's a big dog show in Perry GA (Fri, Sat, Sun 9/1-9/3) Xerxes and I will be there along with his mom (Edie) and siblings and extended family. Our ring times vary but I think we're at noon-ish on Saturday and early...

good dog doors

I own two dogs, and my son has another which comes to visit often. We have a very large fenced yard. When we bought our house the people before us had put in a dog door which has been wonderful, but I never really likes the quality of it. Yesterday it finally broke for good I think I would like to replace...

Help me choose something for my aquarium
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Okay folks. One of the more interesting/weird things in our new house is a 30L aquarium built in to the kitchen's dining area wall. I've included a pic below. It's accessed for cleaning etc from a small room behind it. Apparently previous folks were "fish people" and thus the tank...

Is it a myth that getting your dog fixed changes it's personality? I never thought so, but some people swear it does. What do you guys think?

Two males.....
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
OK, I know I may be thinking WAY too far in the future, but bare with me[ ]. Does anyone have experience having two males in a house together? After we get a house the plan (I know, I know--man plans God laughs) is to get a male ridgie pup. This pup will be fixed, though I plan on competing with him...

help -- she ate a bone!
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I was walking with my dog an hour ago, and before I knew it, she was eating this bone she picked up off the sidewalk. It looked like a beef bone and seemed pretty old. It was kind of dark, like a brown paper bag or a dried-up leaf. It wasn't thick, but it was kind of square-shaped and an inch long...

Home Buying Prayers and Good Vibes....

Well, we are about to go look at a house. It's a 3 bedroom fixer upper with a nice sized yard for Sally. I'm nervous. We are preapproved by the real estate company, but I've heard that there are "flippers" that want this house. If it's meant to be it's meant to be, but I...

Spaying tomorrow - and worried

Trixie is scheduled for spaying tomorrow... I know she needs to be spayed because she has demodex aka red mange and every time she goes into heat, she'll be miserable. My first post here was about an Ivomec overdose she had... which was given because of the demodex problem. I just worry about having...

Puppy Bite Control Techniques...
Posted to:

Hey everyone. My puppy Beagle (8 weeks old) is having problems with fingers and hands. He nips every so often and I correct him by saying "ah ah" or "no bite" or yelp, put a toy in his mouth, if he continues I stand up and walk away and if he gets hyper with the biting I will pin...
