help -- she ate a bone!

I was walking with my dog an hour ago, and before I knew it, she was eating this bone she picked up off the sidewalk. It looked like a beef bone and seemed pretty old. It was kind of dark, like a brown paper bag or a dried-up leaf. It wasn't thick, but it was kind of square-shaped and an inch long. She crunched it up in her mouth then swallowed it. Should I bring her to the vet or should I wait it out? She's acting perfectly normal. Am I just overreacting?

Give it a day or so, if all seems normal. Shadow's done the same thing, before. Sometimes, you just get lucky.

Yeah,,Bubblegum has done that sort of thing before too...I'm walking her and she I do let her stop and sniff occasionally,,,and every once in a while,,she grabs something and starts chewing. I agree with Ron.........but just watch her for a day or so.

Cherokee had some cooked chicken wing bones a week or two ago. I didn't know til I found the trash hidden away on the side of the house yesterday. I know there were at least four bones in there. I looked around for the trash the night we had them, but I couldn't find it, so I thought someone had actually (*gasp*) thought of putting the trash somewhere where Cherokee couldn't get it. Obviously not. But since I didn't even know til yesterday, I'd say she had no issue with it. Obviously I wouldn't give her cooked bone on purpose, but she's had it several times and never had an issue. So I wouldn't worry too much, but DO keep an eye on her to see if she acts odd or anything.
