Hi Everyone!!

Hi everyone! I'm new here and to the dog world . . . I've had a cat as long as I can recall, but now that I have a nice fenced in yard (1/3rd of an acre) it was time to get a dog! So my wife and I drove over 6 hours to a shelter and picked up this little guy . . . who we named Winston. He...

So, I just got a really awesome mash note on Marlowe's behalf in my inbox. As requested, here's a couple more pictures! Also making an appearance, Marlowe's older brother Conrad, the bloodhound mix. Making an additional appearance (now that I look at it): the sorry state of my lawn. Yeah...

Sharing Heartguard and Frontline
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Since I have two dogs now, is it all right to divide their monthly doses of Frontline plus(up to 22lbs) and Heartguard between the two of them. Dugan weighs 10lbs and Maddie is 4lbs. I thought giving Dugan 2/3 of the medication and Maddie 1/3 would cover their needs. Does anyone who owns two small dogs...

A Cautionary Tale.....
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Just a word of caution for those of you with bully breeds or thinking of getting a bully breed dog... One of my coworkers has an 8 yr old greyhound, and 2 yr old pit, and a 6 month old pit--all females. He let them run in their fenced yard unsupervised this past Friday while he ran errands. When he...

A tornado warning siren is your signal to go out in the yard and look for a funnel. Someone you know has used a football schedule to plan their wedding date. You've ever been excused from school because "the cows got out." You can properly pronounce Eufaula, Gotebo, Okemah and Chickasha...

questions about a rescue
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Two days ago we rescued an 11-month old Chi. Her owner fed and watered her regularly and changed the newspapers under her feet but basically kept her in a 6x8 room and had very little interaction with her. She wasn't fixed, but she'd had all of her shots. Our vet said she was physically pretty...

Dog Pees on Her Bed
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
My dog pees on her bed. Not when she has no other choice, almost as a marking type of thing. I just made her a new bed, she scratched at it for a few minutes and then peed on it! She has access to go outside and she is housetrained so I don't think it was just that she had to go. She wouldn't...
