I am telling his story so that maybe it will warn others about the risks of breeding & not make my mistake I want to keep his memory alive. I love him so much. I can't let it die out-I owe it to him.[align=center] [align=center]I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about me and my Pug Tank. My name is Troy and my wife Lorri & I live in upstate NY. Mom to my precious Baby Boy Tank for 5 wonderful years. He died on June 4 2006. Tank was our first pug and treated & loved as the child we didn't have. We loved him more than anything else and he was the most sweetest, loyal & lovable pugs in the world. He was my heart, best friend & constant companion. Life without him is almost unbearable and gets worse each day that goes byand he isn't in my arms. A year before Tank passed we had met a breeder in upstate, NY at one of my Pug Meet Ups. We became friends after a short time believing we shared the same interest "Pugs". As time went on she often spoke to me about her breeding practices, reciting what a responsible breeder should be & do. She knew all the right words to say making herself appear to be the responsible Show breeder we LATER found out she wasn't. Knowing how much my wife wanted to learn how to breed & show Pugs so she offered to be her Mentor. After a short period of time she came to me telling me she'd like to use my Tank to breed with her Champion line female. Looking up to her Mentor my wife agreed believing what a RESPONSIBLE breeder we THOUGHT SHE WAS. She had often spoke of the fact all her dogs had tested negatively for brucellosis, a bacteria that's passed through fluids & very resistant to antibiotics. She made a big deal out of how important it was to do testing and most breeders don't. Tank tested negatively for brucellosis we didn't ask to see written documentation about the females results because this was a trusted friend. She claimed they were done at Cornell and on file verifiable. When her female whelped her litter most were born dead and the others died within a day. She told us the 6 & 7 oz puppies were just too large for her 18lb girl & was Tanks fault because he was MUCH TO BIG @ 20 lbs. My wife & I suggested she take her girl in to the vet to see if something was wrong. She said no need. kinda laughed and diagnosed the cause herself. At that moment we almost died realizing she was not all she claimed to be. In our mind a licensed, responsible BREEDER would never let her little girl lay there without knowing what went wrong. Our dog Tank was diagnosed with Brucellosis at Cornell University on July 28, 2006, about 2 months after his death. His eye was removed and prosthetic put in because of Secondary Glaucoma on May 25, 2006 @ Cornell. They were running tests to determine the cause and found Brucellosis in the dissected eye. This is what caused the Glaucoma. They wanted to know the names of any dogs that he bred with. We couldn't believe what we were hearing and informed them that Tank was bred to one of this breeders dogs. We explained to the vet that she was one of their clients & her Pugs were all tested for this bacteria @ Cornell. The vet looked up her chart and found out that she has NEVER BEEN TO CORNELL UNIVERSITY. [align=center] It was like being hit with a ton of bricks when we found out she had lied to about going to a Reproductive Specialist at the University as well as many other things concerning her breeding ethics & standards. Because Tank was infected with Brucellosis by her dog he developed Glaucoma & had to have his eye removed. The prosthetic eye is why he we took him in to his previous vet in GA where he was taken to the back to be given medicine and somehow died while back there [align=center] Every dog & person that goes into that house to board there, groom, day care to buy puppies are all at risk of being infected with the brucellosis bacteria. They have since got defensive and will not acknowledge or respond to my attempts to see the negative results she claimed to have dated before the mating. She has also attempted to discredit me by actually going on national pug forums and saying I killed our own dog by beating him to death. This is absurd because we have his necropsy results and secondly this is a very cruel evil thing to do and say. Wasn't killing our precious baby boy Tank enough?? Life without him is unbearable and we want to warn others so they don't have to suffer the lose we did. We am planning to seek legal action as well. But that's okay, I'll play along...   Nothing in your post is true and since I've also been a target of the slander disseminated by this wannabee, I find your entire post laughable. The so-called breeder you claim to "know" has been outted for the liar and puppymiller she is on forums across the net and, when asked the simplest question by a really knowledgable breeder, this athetic excuse for a human being immediately begins whining that she's being victimized by "jealous breeders".. LMAO!! Her game is pathetic & most of her statements are so ridiculous they don't even deserve a response. However, accusing someone who's just lost a much loved pet of beating it to death - yes, I've seen the email and I've also seen the results of the necropsy so that one just won't fly - is just beyond VILE. It's the behavior of a very sick and ugly mind.   I'd be more than happy to verify this story via copies of the emails she's sent to ppl, as well as copies of the necropsy results if anyone wants to email me. The only liar in this tragedy is the sick depraved woman who accused a loving mom of hurting her baby. • glenmar Posted : 8/24/2006 9:03:26 AM I don't know if nyiceprincess is a friend of this breeder or not.  I don't care.  This is a private issue that should not be on a public forum.   Had you simply warned folks NOT to breed without absolute proof of negative test results, that would have been one thing, and I do understand how devastating this loss is and that you wanted to share the story, however, I think you perhaps shared too much of the story and enough details for people to KNOW who you were talking about.   I'm absolutely not taking any sides here.  I'm sorrier than I can say for your loss.   I see that Jaime has already been here with here RED ink, so hopefully this thread can continue in the vein that I think you wanted it to....as a warning to people to NOT trust anyones word when it comes to the potential health and safety of their dogs, bitches or studs. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
