• For Show... Ashleigh Lg Posted : 8/29/2006 10:51:38 PM I have an amazing and very bright Akita Mix "Zeus" that I use for obedience, fun matches, and grooming classes. He is more than I could have ever wished for. But for the few people out there who are "Show Quality" crazy is my other love, Shaunti, an English Bulldog that I use for competitive junior showmanship. She is such a character always sure to keep you smiling. The first is not such a glamour shot. I hope to take a small class in college for wildlife photography, I've always been an artsy person, but the dogs have always been #1...why not put them together. Funny that you reply. I love my guys .. and girl hehe to death but i could never get over the American Staffordshire Terrier and the American Bulldog. Both great personality breeds I hope to own and possibly show someday. I take showmanship classes at my highschool, very convenient. My instructor is Lori Pelletier best known for breeding and handling her Norfolk Terriers like her little hot headed champion Mr. Big. It is a great opertunity to be taught by... never mind just meet a handler from eukanuba tournament of champions and all the other big events and gosh i cant even explain all me and my dorky classmates jumpin around "Mrs. Pelletier is gonna be on TV!". Sorry for the long reply I could talk forever as everyone im sure hehe. I just wish someone could remind her she's a lady. In the last match hosted at my school we recieved 1st - Non Sporting 2nd - Intermediate Showmanship Best Junior Handler and High Point Female Zeus however, my Akita mix was entered in most of the fun matches. 2nd - Handsomest 1st - Mixed Breed 1st - Best Trick 3rd - Obedience 2nd - Hurdles    and go figure...we walked away that day with High Point Mixed Breed and BEST IN SHOW![sm=eek.gif] Amoung all of the purebred dogs there.
