Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I try to give Sampson healthy treats so I usually only use the NB food rolls as treats. Im sure he would like something new so I found some freeze dried chicken treats at costco today. Has anyone ever tried them? Protein is real high at 70 so I dont know how many or how often to give him one. Maybe...

Am I fit for owning a dog?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Hello, A quick intro to my background can be found here: http://forum.dog.com/asp/tm.asp?m=237454 My main concern right now is if I am even fit to own a dog given m busy schedule (I should add that I think the dog will be left alone for about 10.5 hours a day during my work week). While I am willing...

So I came home with Solid Gold
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I intended to get Nature's Variety Venison, but I wound up bringing Solid Gold's Barking at the Moon home instead. I wanted to get away from rice for a while since the dogs have been on foods with rice (and chicken) for years now. They sniffed the bag and tried their handful sample and were looking...

I wish I could say I'm getting married but I'm not, at least not anytime soon.[8|] I was talking with my BF and I said "if" we ever get married I want to keep my last name. He thought it was a crazy idea, he wanted to know why I thought that I should do that. I just don't like the...

So tonight DH and I had friends over.... we met them outside, since Sammy seems to have more distrust of people who just "invade" his home, and he had met these guys before, and wasn't all too thrilled with them. So outside he woofs lightly once or twice but that was all (he hasn't barked since xmas...

roll over
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I have been training lucy some tricks recently. So far she knows, sit, down, paw, other paw, high five, come, bang and working on stay. I want to train her roll over but I am having a hard time doing this. She is a very hyper and wiggly dog and it's hard to get her to lay down long enough to do it...

Dirty sutures, all my fault!
Posted to:

My little guy got neutered the day before yesterday, and the surgery area has seemed to really be bothering him. In an attempt to expedite the healing process, I in all my wisdom squeezed some vitamin E on the area, totally forgetting about my dog's hobby of digging and kicking in yard after going...

It seems like we have quite the baby factory going here, so I might as well tell everyone too... Yep, I'm pregnant too...going on 7 weeks. I didn't tell a lot of people, mostly because it took me almost 2 weeks to get over the shock and stress of the situation, and despite the fact that...

If you could ask

If you could ask your dog one question and "hear" the answer, what would your question be? My question to M-ster would be about the car. I would love to know why he hates riding in my car. We have 2 station wagons, just different models. For some reason, M is not too keen at all about the...

Clicker questions

I just recently started with a clicker. The pom has down, sit, and finger touching down thus far. So, my question is...sometimes, he gets the hand signals mixed up. Do I proceed in the same click/treat fashion until he is bullet proof? Sometimes I make him go through all 3 commands before I...
