Seems like a lost hobby...I dont do them as much as i used to,but have ,in the past few years, found some that resemble my dogs...

I have one that looks exactly like our Kuruk,,,i built it and framed it years before Kuruk came to us..

I also fount one with two dogs that resemble Kiara and Kove...still working on this one,and its giving me fits..

You're talking jigsaw puzzles, right? My late grandmother was a big puzzle lover all her life... I will always associate them with her. She usually had one in progress when we'd visit her house.

My fiance and I did one a couple of years ago, it's a section of a Van Gogh painting - currently it's framed and hanging right over my computer.[:)] It was a lot of fun doing it together, I would love to do another one... as soon as we get a stick of furniture in this place...

Wow, I haven't thought about puzzles for a long time.  Growing up, I used to spend HOURS face down in a puzzle.  It was a family addiction.  I remember giving mom some really mean puzzles.  One had all the pieces shaped the same way.  Another one was all red.

We do them alot.  My family is big on them.  We used to do them all the time as a family.  They are great...as long as they aren't too hard [;)]

I love jigsaws.... most of the ones framed are of wolves, artwork by jody bergsma.  but I also have a tigger puzzle and have done some for my parents to hang in their new house that matches their color scheme.  They frustrate me at times, but usually I enjoy them.

BF and I just got 2 new ones.  One of Captain Jack Sparrow, and one of Will Turner.  Yummmm...

Oh my, the best thing to do is keep me away from puzzles.  I get fixated very fast and pretty much spend days working on them till they're all done.  And I get possessive over them too, I am that pathetic.  [:-]

Oooooooo!  I LOVE puzzles!  It's funny that you posted this.  Monday I pretty much took over a friend's puzzle when we were over.  I remember when I was still in school Mom would start a puzzle and then I'd join in and we'd sit there for quite a while staring at the dang thing!

I wish I could keep a puzzle in my house.  I'm afraid that Ash (my cat) would either attempt to eat the pieces or play with them, throw them on the floor for Copper to hoover up.  [&:]  I need to find something to cover it with and then I could be a puzzle fool!  [:D]

I'm a jigsaw puzzle person for sure. To the point where I consider verrrry carefully how much stuff in "real life" I have to get done before I can get one started. If I starte one, it's something I'll spend most of my free and not-so-free time doing! I love puzzles!

Some of the best time I've spent with my son was with both of us working on a puzzle. That is, after we got over the "HEY, *I'M* doing the yellow pieces!" type of conflicts! [:D]

I miss doing puzzles! My mom and I used to do them a lot, and  my brother and sister would join in. We'd set up a card table in the living room and leave it there while we worked on it, and people would just go in for a few minutes at a time and work away. It was fun to see the progress others could make when you'd been stuck for so long in one area. I look forward to doing that with my girls when they're older. Puzzles for 2 year olds are pretty simple, but Lily enjoys them. My 5 year old has gotten out of the habit of them because her sister keeps tearing them up, so we will wait a few years.

Nice thread, brought back some lovely memories I hadn't thought about in a long time!

I love jigaw puzzles, and for quick-hit ones, I do an online daily jigsaw puzzle on [linkhttp://www.webshots.com]www.webshots.com[/link].  (all the way at the bottom, under the Popular list - Daily Puzzle.  Here's a link, but not sure it stays consistent every day: [linkhttp://www.webshots.com/does/puzzles/index.html]http://www.webshots.com/does/puzzles/index.html[/link])

Why don't you get one of those rolly thingys that you roll the puzzle up in when you are finished for the day?

The rolly things are okay, but don't store it too long or the pieces themselves become kind of rounded and then are HORRIBLE to try to glue.  I glue and frame all my puzzles, so I was disappointed to find this out, especially since the puzzle had only been rolled for maybe 2-3 weeks while we were moving.

A friend of mine said that she had a problem with the roller things keeping the puzzle together when unrolling it.  So now I'm thinking about getting something called a puzzle caddy or something simmilar to it.  It's a portable flat surface that holds your puzzle and then has 2 smaller sections that can hold the loose pieces.  It looks pretty neat, but it's about $30 for one.
