does anyone here build puzzles?

I probably have 30 or more puzzles that I have kept over the years and put together repeatedly.  Most are of water mills, barns, covered bridges, log houses, some of dogs (golden retrievers).  Back in Feb. '56 I was not quite 11 and diagnozed with rheumatic fever and spent 10 days in hospital, and then 6 weeks in bed --not even allowed up to go to bathroom.  Parents put my bed in livingroom so i could be with family and watch TV--we had just gotten our first TV.  Mom bought a couple of like 500 piece puzzles and got a board and in the afternoons she would put the board on  my lap and we would work on a puzzle for an hour or so.   One was of a barn, the other of a water mill and all these years later, those are still my favorite type to work.

At night in bed I do crossword or other "brain type" puzzles.

Here is a pic of a puzzle the wife, kids and myself built a few years ago...we brought it out of storage when Kuruk came to live with us...with his muzzle getting lighter,it is really starting to resemble him..

Also, what i do when building one is this..

I place it on a large piece of foam board(found at a craft store or art supply..)

When i am done working on it for a time,i place another foam board over it and tape the edges together..the rest of the pievcesstay in the box....

I also dry mount them to the foam backing when done...this keeps it safe till i am ready to frame..

I used to work in a framing store,,,it was a fun job that i enjoyed..

Anyway...Recently,I found a puzzle of a print that i wanted to buy when i workied in this store in the late 80's..They were painted by,Alan Hunt, and i could only afford one of the two that i really liked..I went with the print title "Majestic"(A bust painting of a golden eagle which i matted and framed for myself)

Anyway, the other print i had to pass on,and because it was a limited number print,i couldnt find it.Just this past year i found it in puzzle form and am very please...cant wait to build it and frame it up..

Here is the print i bought and framed..

And here is the puzzle i recently aquired..

Beautiful puzzles, beautiful dogs, and you are right, the ones in the puzzles do look like your dogs.

My husband adores wolves and Eagles (actually all raptors) and we have a lot of  pictures and what nots of both.  We have bought some of the wolf plates from like the Bradbury Exchange, Danbury Mint, etc.  As i look around here in our bedroom our walls have 6 pictures of wolves and 3 of eagles hanging.  In the livingroom, one wall is done with the wolf plates, clock, and whatnots on set of shelves and another all is done with my golden retriever plates, plus we have one with ducks and deer.  Lucily we have a huge livingroom that is kinda broken up by bire place, halls, built in book case, etc and things don't collide.

This time of year there are a lot of Ospreys down here on the coast and any time we drive along the causeway to port Aransas we watch the lines for them and we have counted as many as 8 on the 5 mile drive.

Didn;'t mean to get off topic, but loved the pictures of the wolves & eagles, so had to tell this little story.

I have an older friend who is a professional wildlife photographer, and was lucky enough to recieve pics of his owls he shot...great stuff..

Anyway,we,over the past 10 years, have seen the reintroduction of Bald Eagles, and i even got to see one up close and very personal one day when i stepped outside, and he was on the ground eating roadkill..i was no more than 30 feet away and he was gorgeous, and big..lol
