We have noticed a difference with our pup, we have had her now for 3 weeks and loved every moment of it, can you see it too. She is a little wet in the second pic as she was playing with the hose, its hot here in Aussie.

Cue Suggestions
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
One of my Tzu's, Willie, has this behavior he does where he will stand on his hind legs, stretch up as tall as he can and "paw" at my leg with both paws. He sometimes does it when he's in an unsure situation, like if I am giving attention to another animal, or when we go into the groomers...

Dogs are too attached to me
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I recall another thread on this subject but couldn't find it. If OP recalls, I would sure appreciate a reference to the thread and a comment on the outcome. Another foster dog showing at Petsmart and the main topic of conversation are my foster dogs Newt and Marvin (in my sig). The lady handlers...

I'm growing fur!
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
[align=left]Hello everyone, I'm a chronic "demodex" dog who is suddenly growing fur. Now, I've got no idea how come, except that my owner and I relocated from the moist climate of Western Oregon to the very cold (right now) and dry climate of Southwestern Utah. When I got here...

are oranges harmful?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I've heard that most fruits and veggies are good to add to your dog's diet, and I know that they shouldn't have potato peelings, grapes, raisins, or apple seeds. How about oranges, pears (remove core?), and other fruits. Is there anything else I should be careful with when experimenting...

That Paw Thing
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Ever since she first began to get to know me, Mercy has been doing this thing with her paw. If I'm petting her, she rolls over to get her belly scratched; and then she puts her paw on top of my hand. Same thing if I sit beside her; she's usually curled up with one paw pressed against my leg....

apples?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I cut an apple this morning and was left with a good amount of apple "meat" around the core and was going to throw it away, but instead gave it to Buddy to eat. He played with it a bit, but within 5 min. it was gone ate the whole thing. Now, if I wasn't completely sure that it was okay...

Walking with stroller
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
We are expecting our first baby in a couple of months, and we just got our stroller. One of the things I'd like to do now is train the dogs to walk obediently with the stroller, but I'm not quite sure how to do that. Suggestions, please? Like, should I do the training individually? Should I train...

I couldn't be anymore cruel!
Posted to:

Okay so, not cruel...but I feel bad. I'm taking the little man into the Vet on Valentines Day to be neutered.[8D] But my question is, what should I expect. He's 2.5 and will come home with pain medication. Should I book some extra time off of work to make sure he's okay? I'm thinking...

I don't care how you raise a healthy happy dog I'm just glad your doing so. Just the fact that you love dogs enough to take them in and do what you thinks best for them says something about the person you are. I applaud you all. Peace to you and yours.

What do I need to do?
Posted to:

I'm bringing home my newly adopted Golden Retriever today. [ ] He's on a partially homecooked diet right now. I was just wondering what I needed to do to safely switch him over to a mostly kibble diet. I'm planning on feeding Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, with a little wet...

Ok, so give me your stories about feeding this food. I think I'm going to try it next to see how the dogs do. In my notebooks for them, it says they all did well, the problem was the 'smell' the kibble had- but then I was also pregnant at the time and just about everything except for peanut...

Feeding Garlic--How Much?
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I want to start adding garlic to my dogs food to help with fleas but I can't find any information on how much to feed per weight. I found one site that suggested half a clove per day but surely you can't feed a 10 pound and an 80 pound dog the same amount and get the same results and have them...
