    Walking with stroller

We are expecting our first baby in a couple of months, and we just got our stroller.  One of the things I'd like to do now is train the dogs to walk obediently with the stroller, but I'm not quite sure how to do that.  Suggestions, please?  Like, should I do the training individually?  Should I train them together?  How do I accustom them to walking beside it?

For background: Petey is a perfect walker.  He stays right at my side and I don't have any problems with him on the walk.  Winnie is trouble and I'm currently working to re-train her to walk (our dog walker screwed her up somehow).  She's progressing slowly, but I'm hoping to have her up to snuff shortly.

Train them separately.  Clicker training is fast when it comes to walking nicely on lead.  See this site for hints: www.clickerlessons.com.
The first thing to do is make the dogs each think that great things happen when the stroller is around.  Feed them treats near it for a couple of days, then start rolling it and feeding (you can use squeeze cheese or PB).  You don't have much time, so think about getting them used to an Easy Walk Harness or Gentle Leader or Halti, so that you don't feel pressured to have them be perfect at first.

I think I need to do this with Shippo. I want to eventually try therapy work with him, and one of the tests is their reaction to strollers and wheelchairs right? I think as of now, he hasn't had much experience with them. >O.o;<

I don't know if this is going to help you, but ...

one of the new moms in my mom's group has a infant stroller with a really large basket/storage area in the bottom. Her 2 chis just sit in the basket and get pushed around with the baby. [:)]

She says they would never keep up with the kind of exercise she's trying to get anyway.

Lots of dogs are freaked out by strollers, so definately get them accustomed to it now. Bbefore my eldest was born, Tookey tried to get up into it to sleep!. Couple of things to always watch out for: getting tangled in the wheels, it can happen in a heartbeat, and NEVER tie their leads to the stroller (even when it's empty) as it can tip with very little force by even small dogs and scare the bejeesus out of them (voiced of experience here!)
