I'm growing fur!

[align=left]Hello everyone,

I'm a chronic "demodex" dog who is suddenly growing fur. Now, I've got no idea how come, except that my owner and I relocated from the moist climate of Western Oregon to the very cold (right now) and dry climate of Southwestern Utah.

When I got here, I even had open sores that I'd been working over... you know how they itch! I'd battled this disease since I was a puppy. You can't imagine what all the breeder, my owner, and the vet have put on me, in me etc.

The only thing I can think of is that the dust (boy is it dusty and windy) has choked the critters, and the extreme cold has kicked up something in my system that says "grow fur".

well, Sarah, welcome to the forum! Glad to hear your health has so improved! That wet climate sure could be a breeding ground for nasty things, I lived in extreme Northern CA and swear I had a sinus infection for three years! Does your owner have allergies, and if so, have they improved as well?

Bark! Thanks for the welcome.

My owner has never had much in the way of allergies but since she's gotten here, the dust has gotten to her more than once.

Now that it's way cold... I'm barking about 3 weeks or so of not seeing above freezing temps for more than a couple of times, the dust has died down, 'cept when my buddies and I go for a good dig in the backyard.

Oh, about those buddies... one is a Shepherd/Husky mix, another is a GSH/Aus Shepherd mix, and the last is a Choc Lab/Red-bone Hound mix. There are two other purebred Lab's here, but I don't consider them my buddies.
