We are new here and new puppy owners..

Just wanted to say hello and we look forward to using this site ALOT!  I have never had a puppy (my dh has had dogs) so this is new to me.....tons of work!  New Years Eve we picked up our 9 week old English Shepherd that we have named Honey.  She is doing ok I think on the potty training area and learns very fast (in my unbiased opinion of course ;) ).   I have questions of course but will put them in the appropriate forum. The only question I have here is how do we get our wonderful puppies pic on here for all to see and what is the highest file size.... I tried uploading one but it is too big?

Oh that puppy is adorable!!!! Can you tell me more about the English Shepherd? I've been hearing about them in flyball but haven't seen any in my area. I'd love to know more about them. Looking forward to hearing more about Honey. Congrats on your new addition.

Congrats! I have a secret love for the ES - if I ever got demoted to a baby farm again I'd pare down gradually to just an ES or two - I'm a big fan of all-purpose farm dogs and the history of the ES is like a peek into the past of my beloved Border Collies.

Your puppy is darling. Where are you and where did SHE come from?

We are in Wisconsin and we got her from a farm around Sheboygan.  She is 7/8 English Shepherd and 1/8 collie.  She is definetly a handful as I am sure all puppies are.  I wish she would stop nipping/biting and jumping on the kids (one is 3 and the other is 6).  I need to post in the other forum to see if this is all puppy or something to worry about.  If anyone knows how to post a picture that comes up with every post I would love to know how.  Thank you for your welcome into the world of dog ownership!

My sister and her husband found this litter and we decided (kind of last minute) we would go with and get one also. She said that they are wonderful with kids (I think our thinks the kids are sheep that she needs to herd) and not aggressive.  We love her and she is already a part of our family.  The website does a better job decribing the breed.

What a beautiful pup you have there, we just got ours after Christmas so I know what you mean about the nipping/biting and jumping. They sure are adorable at this early age, enjoy.
