    Nature's Variety Prairie

Ok, so give me your stories about feeding this food. I think I'm going to try it next to see how the dogs do. In my notebooks for them, it says they all did well, the problem was the 'smell' the kibble had- but then I was also pregnant at the time and just about everything except for peanut butter sandwiches sent me to the bathroom lol.

one of the few kibbles all of my dogs were willing to eat dry. Nice ingredients, I like the way they encourage you to offer variety. However, it's more expensive to feed than TO's wild n natural though (because you fed so much less of TO) so I switched.

This actually might work out well for them.  They all 3 gain weight very easily. So if there are less calories per scoop that might work out well.
    I guess I'll give it a try! :)

My biggest issue with this food is the barley way high on the ingredient list. From what I've heard, it's not a very healthy grain and frequently an allergen (similar to wheat). If it wasn't for that I think I would love it. [8|]

Have you considered Nature's Logic? I have been feeding this for about 4 months and the results are terrific. The ingredients are all natural from food sources, nothing synthetic. I feed their kibble and their canned. I can't believe how fast my dog cleans her dish.

Mitch, since you're such a devout Nature's Logic customer, I thought I'd ask you this... do you know anything about the [linkhttp://feedthemright.org/index.html]Feed Them Right Institute[/link] that portions of their proceeds go to? The website has little to no information and they didn't answer an e-mail. If I'm buying their products I like to know exactly what I'm supporting....

Luvntzus,  The only food by Nature's Variety that contains Barley is the Beef.  The rest are:
    Chicken meal & brown rice
    Lamb Meal and Oatmeal
    New Zealand Venison and Millet
    Salmon meal and brown rice.
and the raw instinct is Chicken and Tapioca

I really like Nature's Variety and feed it to my dogs currently.  I never noticed a smell to the kibble.  I also love their canned foods.  My dogs are doing wonderful on Nature's Variety.

The next food I'm going to try on my rotation diet is ZiwiPeak...expensive but a great food.[:D]

Edited to add, I really wish I could feed Gingerbread Nature's Logic, but he's allergic to brewer's yeast. [&:] The two things that I've figured out that he's definitely allergic to are wheat and brewer's yeast and I think probably barley. He also doesn't seem to do well with dairy. It's surprisingly hard to find a good food with none of those ingredients. [8|]
