how many tricks to work on each day?

Nutrition & Exercise
We added a new member to our family, a german shepherd puppy. We have named her Mia. My husband had our black lab before I met him and so he did all the training with her and I want to make sure I do it right no matter how he did it haha. I am wondering if I should concentrate on one thing at a time...

Guess The Breed!

Hello, I'm new to the forum, and I thought I'd jump in by asking a question. Sassy is a dog that I have been fostering, and I'll soon be adopting (that's a story for another post!). We suspect she is an Australian Shepherd mix, but I would really like to figure out what else might...

OK, so after a lot of reading on this forum, I have decided to try my first RMB. I am NOT going to do chicken (haven't ruled it out as one of JJ's allergies). I purchased beef back ribs today to try with my 2 greyhounds. The meat counters at my local markets don't have much in terms of...

Feeding schedule?

Hi, I'm new here but it looks like I've come to the right place for answers! We have an unidentified rescue dog, she's been with us for several years, she's about 7, we think. We always fed her at night, she slept in the basement and we had very few accidents (she came to us housetrained...

Hounds of Hawai'i

Well, I recently came home from a week long excursion to Hawai'i, specifically the island of Kaua'i. Being the dog lover I am, I have a habit of taking as many pictures as I can of the local dogs whenever I travel (this usually results in some embarassing moments during picture time upon arrival...

Help Me - I'm stressing out!

I know this topic has been addressed before but I'm at my wit's end. Just what is normal eating for a puppy? Eli, 5 1/2 months old, 5 pounds, just doesn't seem to enjoy eating! When he was first home he ate his puppy kibble fine when moistened. Then he wanted nothing to do with it. I've...

Getting to Know One Another!!!

Dakota LOVES to play with any other animal. Every now and then, my in-laws will bring over their little dog, Dandy. Here are a few shots of the dogs' interactions. Dakota loves getting reactions from other dogs by shoving his snout in the other dog's ear: "Pssst. Let's see who can...

When we don't go to the beach, this is usually where we go. It's a ravine across the street from me.

My landlord says he will sell me this house. I am going to do my best to buy it. As you know I'm self-employed and that makes it harder to get a loan. So I'm going to give it a go. It would mean a lot to me if you can send all kinds of good energy this way. See Jean and Sofia in their own...

I was just outside with Charlie and he was playing with Shadow next door (1 year old daschund). We were sitting on the front lawn with the dogs leashed and someone was coming down the sidewalk with a black lab. Shadow started going ballistic, barking jumping up and down, pulling on the leash etc. and...
