I'm sorry to drag this up again, but I'm just feeling vaguely bothered by the use of food right now. I think DPU has been having a sub-conscious effect on me. My thought is, what if by using treats as rewards in everyday training with a food motivated dog, you actually diminish the value...

I just returned home from the training club with Van Morrison, the Canine Good Citizen!!! He did really well while two other dogs were eliminated. The evaluators were won over by how sweet and friendly he can be and then he really "snapped to attention" in the ring. I'm sooooo proud...

we weighed her at Petsmart this past Saturday and she's at 49.5lbs from her last weigh in of 46lbs, which was on Feb 23rd. So a 3 1/2lbs gain in 3 weeks...which is pretty reasonable I think from what I recall with the Akitas. She'd be then about 50lbs by 5 months which is actually on the lower...
