Hey guys I got an email from Julie, Dakota raided the refridgerator today ate a rotisserie chicken with bones, and is sick again. I hope Julie doesn't mind that I am posting but she told me in the email she is taking Dakota to the vet this afternoon when her friend can be with her for her "final"...

My daughter would like to get into this and suggested that it would be a nice Christmas present for her. What do you need to get started, what are the best websites to order from, and maybe what not to waste your money on? Is there a good starter kit that might be recommended? I have zero interest in...

Run free, Gizmoe

My parents had to put to sleep their 12 year old shih tzu today. He was totally blind and had horrible skin issues (pet store pup). They got him the year I graduated high school, so he has never been the family dog, he was my parents. It breaks my heart, but I know he is running free with many dogs and...

Speaking of vacuums... Water vacs?? (alieliza)

My mother is a total TV shopping addict (well, shopping in general, just the TV gets her into even MORE trouble). Jim and I have been talking about getting a vacuum for quite some time, and his mother has an extra vacuum that she was going to give us. Well, my mom says to me the other day "Do...

help. sores and bumps on paws?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Sigh. So Sammy had some issues a few weeks ago with red, chewed up paws, we think from something to do with a bag of kibble he'd been eating. Pure hypothesis there. Anyway, vet had him on clavomox (dog augmentin) and prednisone. He's been totally off the pred for about a week; close to the same...

Name that drawing/artist
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
After discussing Escher with my boyfriend last night, it reminded me of a drawing I really like that's hanging in an exam room at my doctor's office. I can't for the life of me remember what it's called, much less who the artist is and I'm hoping someone knows what the heck I'm...

My Mercury S***ble had to go to the shop again this week. Muffler is loud, breaks are squealing, heat doesn't work, engine running hot. So, our usual guy says there's a crack in the coolant thingy and fixes that - heat works and engine is normal temp. He said something was broken on the back...

My local pet food store is raping me with their prices. Any online sources that's reasonable or should I just order from Honestkitchen.com?

Who has a Roomba?!
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
The other day my mother asked me what I could use around the house for Christmas. I said a Roomba, and now she's asking me if that's what I really want. I thought it would be great for the living room into the kitchen on our hardwoods because the dog hair always bunches up all along the baseboards...

Someone hacked into DH's ebay and yahoo accounts - and probably paypal. I am so mad. We are literally leaving in less than 24 hours for vacation and now we have to put a hold on everything (account wise)! I am so mad! I guess I am happy that it happened today instead of tomorrow because we would...

Pet shop on fire...

in my town. It's a small local store that sells cats and dogs, so I'm not a fan and don't patronize the store, but it's on fire. Badly today. The latest report says: 8:37 a.m. Fire fighters say the fire at Delilah's Pet Shop will probably be an all-day affair. The intersection...

The war between "positive" and "correctional"
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Every forum is different. On some forums the word correction is so much of a taboo, you might as well be burned at the steak. This seems to be the general feeling here. I have finally experienced it myself, and have now seen others also being treated poorly simply because we leave doors open and understand...
