Please Pray and Send Good Thoughts for Riley (mrstjohnson) - UPDATE
Posted to:
Life Stages
Oy what a week! Long long story completely unrelated. but it led to me working from home this morning. I brought Riley over to neighbor's house to say hi when she asked me what was wrong with Riley's knee since it was swollen. I looked down and it was. She wasn't showing any pain, but then...

So Simba's first day of obedience class is tomorrow. I'm excited for him since this means more socialization, hopefully he'll do well with the distractions of the other dogs being there. :)

Blue's hurt
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
I went and let the dogs outside to let them stretch their legs since the weather is getting warmer when I started getting Cadey a little wound up when she took Blue down with her line doing zoomies. He yelped and the next thing I know Cadey has Blue's ear in her mouth and she wouldn't let go...

For those who've had dogs break foot bones.....
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
what did your vet do? Sage hurt her foot sometime Wednesday. Wasn't sure how bad so the plan was to watch her. She would limp when walking, put some weight on it standing but preferred to hold it up. She's got the cutest little hop/run that she does to keep from putting pressure on it but still...

Just call me stupid.......
Posted to:

Yep, that's me, stupid. I'm one of those stupid people who brought a puppy home without researching the breed first. Dumb, dumb, dumb... We had to have our 12 yr. old lab put down back in December because of paralysis and nerve damage in his legs. We knew we'd want a new dog eventually...

Snapping at Owners
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
We have an 8 year old mixed male lab, Bullwinkle who has a problem of giving a warning growl, snapping and occasionally making contact with his teeth (but never biting down) when we touch him. He is affectionate and attached to my wife and virtually never leaves her side but when she goes to pet him...

He's been having some confidence issues meaning he had lost his and we have been working on it for a while now. His loss of confidence has meant he had become reactive on leash in certain situations Today on our walk two VERY large GSD's came barking and running at us down their driveway, crossing...

How can I teach my dog to be obedient even when I don't have treats...
Posted to:

Mostly I want to teach her to come to me when she is called. When she sees something interesting or when she escapes out the fence she ignores...
