A few days ago I noticed that one of noodles front/left nail was cracked in half and split. It wiggled like a loose tooth. Today after letting her out, she came back limping. I checked the nail, and sure enough, the cracked half broke off. She wasn't bleeding so I wiped it down with water, and...

Dog freaks out over nail trimming
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
My dog freaks out and try's to bite when we do her nails or even trim the hair on her feet. She is not an agressive dog otherwise, the only thing I could do is put a muzzle on her so she doesn't bite me. I'm hoping she will get more comfortable with this procedure and I won't have to...

need new puppy - which sex is better
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
We recently lost our boy beagle. I have an almost 2 year old girl beagle, who has been fixed and I want to get her a new friend. I want a puppy - 8-10 weeks old beagle. Does it matter what sex of a new dog I get. I am just curious if one is better than the other for an already established dog. Thanks...

Prong collar technical support :)

Hello everyone, I just did the dumbest thing ever. I don't know how I did it but I can't get my prong collar back together! All the prongs are attached. I must have taken the collar off right at the very last prong (next to the prong attached to the chain part of the collar). This prong looks...

Digging up Yard
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Our 8 month old male cockapoo sometimes (but not always) when let outside to do his business will have the tendency to pull up the grass in chunks and chew it and eat it. Any ideas on how to deter this behaviour? Will I have to go back to having to go out with him every single time with a leash on him...

I am seriously thinking of getting rid of my puppy
Posted to:

Sorry I posted this in the behaviour section too. I am so bummed. My puppy that is a GSD mix bit the vet today and he was just petting her. She has always been a little on the nippy side, but lately it has been way worse. It is like she has changed personalities or something. Health wise she is perfect...

Homeowners Insurance....

How does it work? We will be getting a house in a year in a half or two years. We know Sally is some sort of bully mix, so we will be going with an "all breed" agency, but she is listed as a mixed breed on her vet papers and on her microchip registration as we really don't know for sure...

Ok, well today was beautiful and I'm home from school, so the first thing I do? High-tail it to the dog park with the camera! I've been wanting to do that for a while, and I'm glad I did [ ] Unfortunately it was a little *too* sunny, so some of the pictures look a little washed out... but...

Aaaugh!!! DIARRHEA! Parvo with vaccine?

Now I'm scared. I posted on the nutrition page a few days ago about my cocker, Piper having diarrhea. Everyone gave great suggestions on helping him through it, and it seemed like everything was getting better - I'm feeding him boiled rice and chicken, I've given him a bit of pumpkin, his...

I was reading on another thread about prey drive. Crusher has next to none so far. He will lay in the back yard with chickadees pecking the ground all around him! Crusher's bro on the other hand is a hunter. He has also started chasing cars. BAD NEWS I know. So my friend has decided to put up...
