I have a sweet 9 month old male (neutered) pomeranian (about 5lb); I've owned him for 6 months. When I got him I made some serious mistakes for which I am still "paying". I feed him a handful of slightly moistened Innova at 5am and 5pm. I almost never give him anything else (very occasional...

The Noble Quest for Kinder and Gentler "Nutrition" Postings
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
I don't know why I'm doing this. I know it is a waste of my time to write and of your time to read, but I just can't help myself. Far too often, IMHO, nutrition threads turn borderline abusive. I am not impressed. I think intelligent people should be capable of much better. Keep in mind...

Smelly Doggie...
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I am at my wits end. I have tried several kinds of shampoo and things to make my chi/dachshund mix smell good but it only lasts for a real short while and then back to stinky pooch. Does anyone else know of any products that give good LASTING results. My mother says that it's just the breed of dog...

We met Chase's littermate today!
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
We bought Chase at a pet store a little over a year ago. He was one of two puppies. Anyway, today we went to hike on some trails about half an hour away. We ran into a young couple with their lovely chesapeake. After chatting for a few minutes, we realized that Brutus was Chase's littermate! How...

Retained puppy teeth
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
I have a 9 month old Cavalier and he was scheduled to have those retained deciduous puppy teeth removed this Friday. Well, imagine my surprise when I checked his teeth today to find that one had fallen out, and the other one is loose! I thought that at his age there was no way they'd come out on...

Multi-pet homes??
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Hi-- I was wondering if anyone here on the forum has other pets besides just your dogs. And I don't mean dogs and cats-- as they have a closely woven history with one another. Rather, does anyone have any other small pets? My wife has a bunny, Charlie, who has free reign of our tv room. He is a lop...

Switching Canned like Switching Dry??
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
If you want to change canned food often to change up the flavors does it need to be done mixed slowly like dry food. Is switching within the same brand ok or even that needs to be done slowly. Or brand to brand? Or does it not matter. Is it like changing dry and can upset their tummy? Just dawned on...

Really Scared Dog Please share suggestions

I copied this over from the old board: We have a huge problem with nails. Mattie used to love being brushed. She did not like having her nails trimmed but always let me do it without much of a problem. She has had a bad experience with a groomer. The groomer said she tried to bite her while having...
