Shih Tzu gone zippy!
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
My newly adopted Shih tzu was quiet when I first got him. Now he goes through a couple times a day like a wild dog....racing through the house and making circles....it is funny to watch. He loves to tear rear through the house and play fetch....A far cry from the mellow dog I got...he still is very sweet...

Okay, so once again I am thinking of homecooking for my almost 2 year old cocker spaniel. He currently eats natural balance, but my sister homecooks for her maltese and today she made him vension and Jake had a taste and absolutely loved it. He can't have the natural balance vension because it has...

Do Not Stick Things in Your Ears!!!
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Just ask my son. Today we spent 9 hours up at the hospital trying to get a bead out of his right ear that mysteriously found its way in there during some beadwork time at school this afternoon. He finally had to go into the OR and be put right to sleep so they could get it out without him fighting them...

Squirrels In Her Knickers

I have been doing a lot of yard work lately, my backyard needs a lot of rehab and I would like to actually use it more. Anyway, I'm digging out a couple thousand river rocks and there are tons of spiders (I'm using gloves). I am trying to be careful I don't want to get bit. My knees are sore...

Petsilk

I am looking for feedback on the different Petsilk scents, if any of you use it. I bought the deep cleansing shampoo and I was SO happy with the results (clean, silky and very shiny dog) BUT I just hated the way it smelled. I also have the Petsilk Coat Control and I like that smell, so I know it's...

Well I was asked to leave the pet store today. I was in buying fish food and at the counter a lady was asking where they got their puppies from and the girl who works there said they weren't allowed to say. I must have been feeling feisty because I piped right in that they all come from puppy mills...

Mom and Pop store Vs Chain store

Another thread got me thinking about this and I didn't want to hijack that one. I buy my dog food at a small mom and pop local business instead of PetSmart because they are a small, local business. I pay about $30-$38 (depending on sales) a bag for 40 lbs of Nutro. I could buy the same bag at...

I gave Sally a dosage of Frintline today. It turns out that 30 days from now we will be on vacation and she will be boarded at the vets. Can I give her another dosage a couple of days early, or should I have the vet give her one? I'm afriad that if I wait too long after the 30 day mark she will get...

I've owned several GSD's during my life.... my last one was a wonderful black and silver, large male. He was a "hand-me-down" and just an awesome dog. He had to be put to sleep last October after suffering nerve complications assoicated with tail jerk syndrome after being hit by a car...
