I posted this in the General Board but, quick summary, while taking my Panda for a walk, I found a dog in the barkyard of this house, he had a chain, the chain was tied to a weight, maybe from 10-15 pounds maybe. I walked Panda last night, and sure enough, the dog still had the weight. It rained earlier...

My girl has Hip Dysplasia that has gone from 'Mild' to 'Moderate' in the last 8 months. She is just under 3 years old and is starting to show signs of soreness and lameness. I know about her HD, since I OFA'd her at 24 months and then again at 31 months. She is currently on MSM to...

- Do you have any names in mind for future dogs?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Just thought this might be an interesting thread. Seems a lot of people wait until after they bring a new puppy/dog home to come up with a name for it....I've never been one to do that as I like to start getting my dog to recognize his/her name from the moment I bring it home. I usually have about...

Went to a new park

There's a neat dog park in my area we went to for the first time last night. It is almost completely wooded and has a stream running through the middle of it. The only problem with this park: Totally unfenced. Luckily I went with a group of 6 dogs that are part of Xerxes' "pack." Of...

I was going to give my dogs a raw chicken quarter for the first time today. But, then I stopped. Because my one dog has a tumer in his colon from cancer and it takes him along to to go to the bathroom because of it, so I try to never give him anything that will make it harder for him to go or that would...

I took Kaiser on a pretty long walk the other day on his gentle leader...that thing is a life saver! When i got home though, i noticed that most of the fur was rubbed off his nose, and was kind of raw. He pulls on it a lot when he passes another dog, because he wants to play and to make him sit down,...

Hot weather - eating less?
Posted to:

Let me preface this by saying that if this is what is going on, I totally understand, because it is exactly the way I am, I have difficulty eating in hot weather too. We have been having really hot weather here for about 10 days. Since about the time the heatwave started, Ben has not been happy eating...

I think Shakespeare is double coated. I brush him occasionally but until recently not as regularly as I should. Lately he has been shedding clumps of hair so I got back into the habit of brushing him. The main portion of his body looks fine (to me) but I am posting some pics of the back of his head and...
