Help with a problem
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
I have a 5 month old Aussie. He's doing well on sit/wait/down commands, and he does great off leash in the yard when I take him out to go to the bathroom. My problem is his front feet. When I put him in a "sit", he reaches up and tries to claw you to death with his feet, almost like he's...

What should I do about my pup's mouth?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Earlier today I was playing with my dog with a stuffed squeaker panda toy, and he dropped it at my feet when suddenly I noticed that there were tiny patches of blood. I checked his teeth and found that one of the teeth on the left side of his mouth was surrounded in a...

Maternal Aggression? She bit me twice!
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Dam is JRT with three day old pups. She and the pups are in a completely seperate room from other dogs. However, when she wishes to come out for a brief walk, or to go outside, I let her. With her pups safely in there bed, and behind a closed door, she has lashed out unprevoked at one of our dogs...

Shedding Boxer
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
My one year old Boxer sheds quite a bit. We have tried about six or seven different kinds of brushes and nothing will get the hair off her. We brush her and it all ends up on her butt and then we have to pull the handfuls of it off. Anyone have a good brush for the short hair?

Ok my 2 have been on this food for about a month and 1/2 and they are still chewing (not all the time) a little bit on their feet. Could that be from something outside? Have backed off a little from the can each day since Casey still has slightly loose stools (vet says he is ok and he is acting fine...

Itchy Chihuahua

We have an 8 year old chihuahua-pekingese who has had ear infections for over a year now and for the past 6 months she's started to increase itching to the point of drawing blood. She's been to the vet numerous times for treatment and they aren't sure what's the cause so far we know it's...

2 Unrelated Questions
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Two minor questions, unrelated but I'd love to hear what you all think - 1. I think Russell got a bug bite on his neck (right on the white stripe) and scratched it raw. Is there anything I can put on just this one spot to either stop the itching or protect it from his nails? 2. Those of you...

German shepherd Puppy ?

Choosing A Dog
We found out today that two of Sky's littermates passed away with little warning. One passed shortly after haveing puppy shots and the other puppy died a day after being dewormed. The litter will be 13weeks old in the next day or two. My question is could this somehow be linked to their bloodline...

Raw Prey Model

Nutrition & Exercise
Shadow had a raw prey model experience. We were walking along a state highway in the bar ditch next to a grain field. He's been liking this stretch because there are plenty of scent tracks so that he can enjoy the hunting dog part of his heritage. He caught a mouse. I kept hearing this squeak and...

Someone on a dachsie board said her holistic vet recommends Leba III to get plaque off teeth. You just use 2 drops on the tongue. Anyone heard of this? [link http://www.lebalab.com/] http://www.lebalab.com/ [/link]

dogs and dreaming
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
This is something I've wondered about for sometime, and I'm really curious what others here think on the topic. As we all know, dogs, like humans, frequently have dreams. The difference between the species is that we as humans know about the science/physiology behind dreams i.e. we know it...
