What should I do about my pup's mouth?

[size="1"]Earlier today I was playing with my dog with a stuffed squeaker panda toy, and he dropped it at my feet when suddenly I noticed that there were tiny patches of blood. I checked his teeth and found that one of the teeth on the left side of his mouth was surrounded in a tiny puddle of blood. Concerned, I looked to my trainer's manual.
It said that pups his age (6 months) are still developing teeth or losing them and that it was completely normal. he doesn't look like he's in pain, but he still might be! I remember when I was a kid and I lost a tooth I would always chew on a wet rag, so I got a small rag and got it wet and he's chewing on it now.
Is this a good idea? What else can I do to help my puppy?

I take an old washcloth, tie it in a knot, get it wet and freeze it and then give it to puppies to gnaw on. The bonus is that it soaks up the blood and can be rinsed and used again.

That sounds like a good idea!
