help! puppy returns from kennel sick

My 1 year old 13lb. maltipoo returned from a 5 day stay at the kennel on tuesday. The kennel is part of the vet where we take him and my cousin is a groomer there so I trusted him to be safe there. So about a year ago I bought one of those big water jugs that flips over into the bowl and keeps it full longer. I thought it would be great to not have to refill the water every 5 minutes!
