Something is up with Millie's legs. The vet had some great name for it, but I forget. Basically, my mom said she was favoring her right front leg, and she fell down the stairs this morning. When my mom called me this morning to tell me to check on her, she didn't tell me which leg, or maybe I...

Sunburn on the nose
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
Hello all, I am new to this forum, so lets see if I can do this right! I have a black chow/shepherd mix who loves to run outside and play. During the summer time, she comes back in with red spots on the top of her black nose, which similarly resemble sunburn on humans. It starts with one, then almost...

After years of searching and denying and blaming myself for my dogs actions I have finally come to a conclusion. I spent most of the time since I got Allie blaming myself for being a bad handler, not setting realistic expectations properly or just not dealing with her properly. She terrorized my life...

Hello everyone, I'd like to introduce Luna. She's 10 weeks old and weighs 17 lbs. I rescued her form a county animal shelter last Friday. They had her listed as a dalmation/pitty mix but confessed to me that they were completly unsure of what she was. Well now she is now my pride and joy.[ ]

I read the thread on small dog aggression and as the owner of 2 chihuahuas, I echo every sentiment. However - with my youngest dog, I was diligent about socializing him, taking him to obedience, doggie daycare and making him "live on the ground". I read alot, I learned a lot, I did not baby...

I have a 1 1/2 y/o female JRT and for the past week she has remained in her play/sleep areas and if we try to pet her she growls. What makes it more unusual is that she's been 'protecting' 3 toys keeping them in her kennel and she may even carry 1 of them around as if it were her pup. She's...

An unofficial, unauthorized poll

I heard something interesting on the radio this morning. When a woman asks her SO if an outfit she is wearing makes her look fat, 65% of them actually want the truth. That got me to thinking and I thought I might posit some of those thoughts right here on good ol' idog. 65% might be considerably...

My brother went through something terrible
Posted to:

Last night he was in the city and he saw a woman throw her baby on the road and run, he saw her stab a police officer. The baby is dead and the woman is in custody. My brother is very upset. He is really shaken up. I feel so bad for him. The news is not releasing any news other than this. That poor child...

Wow - dog.com crate sale
Posted to:

Did anyone notice the dog.com crate sale? It's kosher to mention this, right? I'm hoping this lasts until the closing on our old farm (whenever that happens [8|]). I am hurting for crates since I gave away TWO on a rescue run. Why do I do that, I don't know . . . Jaime can correct me if...

Hey all, I used to post here a lot last year, and many folks heard more than perhaps they wanted to about my search for a puppy, and it would just be mean of me not to post a picture now that I have one! His name will probably be Sascha, he is a vizsla, and he is the mellowest of all his brothers...
