Max is sad, and he's driving me insane!

Something is up with Millie's legs. The vet had some great name for it, but I forget. Basically, my mom said she was favoring her right front leg, and she fell down the stairs this morning. When my mom called me this morning to tell me to check on her, she didn't tell me which leg, or maybe I wasn't paying attention, but my dad and I thought it was the back right leg. She is of course, in no mood to play with Max. I let him in the room with her for a minute while I was making a sandwich. A minute later, we heard Max yelp like he has never yelped before. She's gotten him a little too hard before, but he's never yelped that loud before. Millie didn't hurt him, but of course now we're keeping them seperate until she feels better. I think it's the greatest torture I could ever enforce upon Max. Every time he hears Millie, he runs up to the gate and whines, and wants to go up and play with her. And, he is driving me insane. We've walked so much my feet hurt today my feet are starting to hurt. I let him dig in the mud we've got from all the rain, and I went out to the store and bought him bones. He's now on his second one of the night. I just hope Millie feels better fast so that he can use up his energy driving her nuts instead of driving me nuts.

Max and I are begging for someone to come do zoomies with him until Millie feels better. I spent about a half hour playing find the cuz ball, which is where Max has to sit and stay while I put the ball somewhere, then I come back and release him to go get it (ok, he's not really finding it on his own yet, i'm still hiding it so that he can see the general area I am going to, and giving him clues, but we're working on it) and fetch after I ran out of treats. Then we went out. As soon as we came in, Max was back to looking for something to tear up, but unfortunately for him, I took away the chair cushions he was enjoying earlier. Millie is on the main floor now with my mom, and he keeps staring at the steps, and then looking back at me. I know he wants me to let him up there with her, I know she can't handle it right now.
Poor Max, after looking back and forth between me and the stairs a few times, he finally let out of big sigh, and plopped down on the floor.

Poor Max. He can come over to play with Brown and Grey anytime.

Max is wondering what the fastest way to get her here would be.
On a positive note, Millie must be feeling somewhat better, because when I sent her back upstairs this morning, she went into my sister's room to find something to bark at, which she wasn't doing yesterday. Yesterday she was scary. We were waiting in the car to go in to the vet, and my mom told me to bring her in, because there were no other dogs in the waiting room. After we were in there for a minute, three others came in. She didn't bark. We took her into the farthest corner from them, and she didn't even do anything. Just stood there and looked like she was wondering what the heck was going on. Even when the idiot with the flexi didn't keep it locked, and the dog came towards her.
And, I think, and maybe I am being overly optimistic here, but I think Max gets it. This morning instead of running up to her and bouncing all over the place, he just ran up to her, and laid down beside her. Clearly it wasn't because he was tired and he wanted to lay down either, because we had just gotten out of bed.

Poor Max, it's gotta be so hard on him. I feel worse for Millie! I hope she gets bettter soon. If anything for your sanity as well as Max.

Jen, do I see a potential play date for Max & Grady??? DH is going out of town this weekend & I'm bored just thinking of being alone all weekend.

It's possible. It's just me and the dogs until sometime Saturday, as everyone else went to Atlantic City. My friend who Max and I were going to hang out with is sick, and i'm so bored I was taking a nap. I hope we can work something out.

I have figured out that the reason for the earlier nap, was not only boredom, but was because of the benadryl I took earlier. Some evil little bug stung my toe while Max and I were out walking this afternoon. After a few hours of whining about it wasn't helping, I decided to try benadryl, which did help, except that now I can't sleep. F****N evil bug!

Whoa! I can't read today. It took me forever to figure out what that first sentence said. Anyway, sure, I hope we do it. Max is trying to tear up the walls in excitement, or boredom, so we've got to go out, but my phone will be with me. The question really is whether or not the battery will last long enough.

Hooray! Grady is coming to play tomorrow! Hopefully he will tire Max out for me!
