Wow - dog.com crate sale

    Wow - dog.com crate sale

Did anyone notice the dog.com crate sale?  It's kosher to mention this, right?  I'm hoping this lasts until the closing on our old farm (whenever that happens  [8|]).  I am hurting for crates since I gave away TWO on a rescue run.  Why do I do that, I don't know . . .

Jaime can correct me if this isn't appropriate, but I'm just amazed at the price for such a nice crate.  This is the kind I like to use on the road for rescue runs, because they fold down but are nice and strong (I've lost two Walmart crates to rescues since I gave up my wire fold downs).

    Way cool . . http://www.dog.com/family.asp?SKW=110159&srccode=06JUN26X

[:D] They're nice crates too. I bought 2 of the black 36"ers a month or so ago, and they're good crates. For a collapsable they ARE strong, and I was pleasantly surprised.

*crosses fingers* I hope that closing comes SOON!! Like tomorrow.

Not tomorrow, but maybe towards the end of this week.  I can't believe it HAS been so long.  I never imagined it would interfere with PJ's birthday, which we put off because we had to be at the lawyer's, and now our anniversary is looming, arrrgggh.

I'm interested as well, but I wonder when the sale will end? (I hope it ends next week...)
Is this cheaper than the one at the stores?

maybe towards the end of this week

I hope so. We need an occasion to celebrate. Besides, I haven't tormented... er... seen you in too many weeks. [;)]

AngelDog, I don't have a clue when the sale ends, but its a great deal, IMO. They're awfully nice crates, and the prices are great - and I *think* there is free shipping on the Dog.com crates (unless that has changed)??? If you guys decide to buy one online, and it comes up with shipping costs, call them on the phone and they'll put the order in for you. Even with shipping, it still winds up being cheaper than going to the store for one here.

Hey, I checked, and they charge for FOB i think it 20 pounds for the 30' so that about $14 and I think there another shipping fee cost addtional to the FOB. (I think I have to go and see it again)

Ok I did my researched (lol) and I found that dog.com is the cheapest one right now including shipping, it's still cheap. I wonder when it's the last day of this sale, because I'm waiting to see if I'm approve or not for the dog I'm planning to adopt. I hope it last till July 4th. *prays and hope the special sale will not end soon*

The sale has been running a while... it will probably continue a while.

And I think they run it repeatedly? I know it was going on last fall. I don't think it has been going on the whole time.  anyway, yeah, dog.com has good crates. [:D]

I know we are blowing out the gold crates because they weren't selling like the black coated ones. It has been going on some time now and from what I remember when Greg said we were going to do it, it would last as long as we had crates.

I use these crates too. They are easy to fold and I LOVE the latch!!!!

This is a little off topic, but still in the line of crates on dog.com
I'm looking into the soft-sided crates to bring to events.  I'd probably only use it maybe 5 times this summer (we'll see about the rest of the year, next year).  I have a tall thin Dobe (28.5" at the whithers and 68lbs)  Any recommendations for which soft-sided crates on dog.com?

I like the kind that are framed with steel poles that set up with tension cord - ie, nothing to insert or lose and I think these tend to be lighter, too.  I like being able to open the top, too.  And storage somewhere on the crate is the bomb.  I too like a crate to be narrower - my skinny BCs don't need much floor space but the dog I was getting it for stands almost 23" tall.

I shopped for mine for about a year and finally found the perfect one at a pet shop on the road!  Then in a moment of insanity, I popped my husband's dog, Doug the Dog, in it on a trip. One hour later the fabric was in shreds.    Mom may be able to patch it but it will never be the same.

However, I notice that many of the new models have the features I like, so it will not be as difficult to find what I want when I'm in a position to replace the Doug-ravaged crate.  I will be buying several this time, since I'll be using them at trials to keep the dogs in the tent with us.  I'm looking at the new Firstrax but for sure I want the steel elastic corded kind and I can't tell whether that's how those are.
We have a closing date!!!!!!!!!!!!  July 6, next Thursday!!!!!!

Thanks!  I've been poking around the internet and found the website for Firstrax.  It looks like the X series has the bungee cord you're talking about.  See the product info and pictures on thier website:

Looks like dog.com only sells the E series.  I found the X series on sale at doolittlespetproducts.com
