she's now an AKC Ch pending the confirmation. She took the points all 4 days in Boston from what I heard...majors most days I think. BOV a couple times perhaps as well...info still trickling in. I am very proud of her...she'll be 8 mos old middle of this month so she wasted very little time....

Hello Again
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
It's been a long time since I've been here, and my goodness, how things have changed! I've recently added another member to our pack and my life is doggy-centered again. Jack is our new addition; he's suspected to be a Belgian Sheepdog mix but I don't know for sure. What I do know...

Is a growl always "a growl"?
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Maybe some of you smart and experienced folks can assuage my curiosity. Sometimes, particularly on walks though often at home too, Rascal will want to bark at something he finds exciting. I ask that he not bark (usually by calling his name and asking him to come over to me and sit), and he usually complies...

Any good movies out?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
Anything you guys have seen recently and liked? :) I liked Lars and the Real Girl, but it was slow. It was sweet, but a little too subtle/emotional for what I was looking for at the moment. American Gangster was, I thought, a great movie. Despite a few scenes of wayyy over-the-top gratuitous violence...

Baby Bulldog Limping - any ideas?
Posted to:
Health & Grooming
My bulldog is only a baby (11 mos) and has developed a limp in the past month or so. It started slight and occasional and has progressively gotten much worse. Luckily, she does not appear in pain. It is so bad now that I cannot walk her except to let her go to the bathroom. My vet cannot know for sure...

Chief is sick...Update, he has parvo. (Ratsicles)

Chief is sick. Hopefully he's going to be fine, but still. This morning, he didn't greet me when I went outside and didn't come when I called him. I found him over in his trough drinking water, which he promptly puked up. He then followed me around the rest of the morning like he normally...

Walking two dogs at once (ottoluv)
Posted to:
Training & Behavior
Well, I've been working with a fantastic trainer for otto over the last two months or so. He had been leash reactive and a little looney, but now he heels beautifully and is pretty much perfect when we take our walks. Ollie, is just starting basic obedience. I don't walk them together yet, just...

Pet Stores

I know there used to be a post stickied about puppy mills, but is it still here somewhere, because I can't find it? My friend (a Petland employee) and I have an ongoing debate over Petland's puppies. I know that they come from puppy mills, but she just doesn't get it. She firmly believes...
