    rwbeagles-Windy finished

she's now an AKC Ch pending the confirmation. She took the points all 4 days in Boston from what I heard...majors most days I think. BOV a couple times perhaps as well...info still trickling in. I am very proud of her...she'll be 8 mos old middle of this month so she wasted very little time. So happy...very, very thankful to her co owner for getting her out and doing the hard part.

Anyhow just wanted to share...thanks for reading!

I have a question about that - there was recently a very heated discussion on the aussie list about dogs getting CH before they are 1 year old - and technically before their full grown. How can a dog be considered a CH before it's full grown?  Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of the dog showing world!

If a puppy is good enough to beat adults, for 15pts and two majors under 3 diff judges,...well then more power to it.

If it falls apart after that? Well that's why you don't  take people at their word when you're looking for a dog to breed from or to...you look at ALL their dogs...from the young to the old, and see what they "really" are like.

I'd not be adverse to having a baby Ch like they do in say the Int'l KC shows. But again...the onus is on the seeker when looking at breeding programmes...so much more to any programme than what you see in the ring and in the magazines. Your job as a seeker is to well...seek...outside that box and get the straight poop. Wink

Oh I'm not saying she isn't great - obviously she is! I just don't understand the whole thing. Have you heard this argument about age and showing before?
