Odd time for a doctor's appt
Posted to: News & Entertainment
DH has to see a specialist, and they gave him an appt for 10pm!!! We thought for sure his primary doc had made a mistake! I've never heard of appts at this time, but it was correct. But he was able to get it changed to a more reasonable 315pm...whew!

Interested to see what you guys think...
Posted to: Choosing A Dog
So, not sure if this is the right place for this post, but it could be breed-related, so here goes. Ever since we got Harry, I've been very curious about his tail (which I think is cute, BTW). He's a shelter rescue, so we don't know his history; he was 3 months old when we got him, and he...

Your thoughts on what to charge?
Posted to: News & Entertainment
I will be picking up and caring for an 10 week old puppy the first week of April. We are driving to Virginia to pick him up. He is to be the companion and playmate for a pup I bred over 8 years ago 9( The pup is his birthday present!) The owner told me to figure out what I want to charge her as I will...

Mindless Chatter - FRIDAY!
Posted to: News & Entertainment
wohoo, Friday! Today should be a pretty laid back day back in the office catching up on things. I actually got some decent sleep last night. I made the aussies sleep in their crates. I think that I'm going to do that again for a while until they learn to completely calm down all night. No jumping...

Puppy Sales in Parking Lots
Posted to: Rescue & Help
I live in MI and we have a huge problem with back-yard-breeders / puppy mills selling adorable puppies in parking lots for hundreds of dollars. These puppies come from horrible conditions. The mother dogs are bred continuously until they are no longer able to, and then are killed or dropped at the shelter...

Maggie and Z
Posted to: News & Entertainment
Z turned a whole year old on the 6th of this month. I figured it was about time for a nice shot of her and Maggie, so here you go - taken on our weekly hike at a local state park (the road they are on is not active btw). The weirdest things you notice...
Posted to: News & Entertainment
Okay, maybe I'm a bit weird. I know many of us here notice things about our dogs that other people wouldn't. We also notice things about other people's dogs as well. Some are pretty straight forward like shiny fur, clean teeth, long nails, etc. Others... well sometimes I just can't believe...

Rats, anyone? NDR
Posted to: News & Entertainment
Ok, so maybe this isn't quite dog-related, but I thought I'd share some pictures of my ratties because I know there are at least a few on this forum who have owned/own them. Some of you may remember me posting about this little girl (Dune) when I first got her over the summer...well she's...

Cancer questions
Posted to: Health & Grooming
Hello, I would like to ask for those of you who have dealt with cancer, or are knowledgeable about it, to tell me what websites you have found to be the most helpful. My friend is waiting on the pathology report on the tumor the vet removed yesterday from her 7 year old German Shorthair Pointer. It was...

possible cushings/diabetes/uti??
Posted to: Health & Grooming
hi, Max is a 12 year old male german shepherd/husky mix - neutered. He's been in great shape for the past 12 years minus the past 3 months. About 3 months ago we noticed that he was limping on his front right leg. We thought that he might have stepped on something, so we took him to the vet...

Trick question
Posted to: Training & Behavior
Lately I'm trying to teach Kenya some fun tricks. So far, we've done a lot of work on formal commands (rally, obedience, agility....) so I'm trying to lighten up a bit. I taught her a nice tight spin, right or left. Now, we're working on doing a figure eight around/through my legs, starting...
