    Cancer questions

     Hello,

    I would like to ask for those of you who have dealt with cancer, or are knowledgeable about it, to tell me what websites you have found to be the most helpful. My friend is waiting on the pathology report on the tumor the vet removed yesterday from her 7 year old German Shorthair Pointer. It was on her chest and not attached, very 'squishy' to the touch when I felt of it over the weekend. He's pretty certain it's cancer, they are just waiting on the final diagnosis.

    I told her about the cancer feeds carbs thing, but I would like to direct her to a very good, informative website. They'll be going to a specialist once they get the diagnosis, but I know she will want to do some research beforehand. They could definitely use your prayers. Sasha means the world to them.

    Thanks...Amy

    I've got Dr. Clemmons' article on cancer diets (he's the U FL vet who is known all over the world for his work in DM in shepherds) -- he's the head neuro surgeon at the University of Florida but is also on the teaching faculty of the Chi Institute (http://www.tcvm.com)

     Acupuncture and Chinese herbals can do awesome things for cancer -- it can augment any western therapy (including chemo believe it or not) and if it's mast cell then it can be incredibly helpful in helping it not recur.  The Chinese word for 'cancer' is "stagnant blood" -- and they feel that if the blood is moving thru the tissues properly it cleanses and doesn't allow cancer to spread/develop.

    Stress I don't mean to 'leave' her vet -- not at all. But rather to augment regular care.  A good TCVM vet will work *with* the other vet, not against them.  E-mail me if you want his article - but I can't send it thru a PM.

    Hi Callie, I have the Clemmons article. I got it from you when my Uncle's dog was diagnosed. I'll get it off to Wendy. I lost all of my cancer links though when we lost the hard drive, so I was hoping to get some good ones from everyone here. Thanks again!

     Amy, this link is for a homemade cancer diet from the California Veterinary Specialists Angel Care Cancer Center. It mimics the Hill's RX cancer diet in nutrients;

     Jessie has a few lumps on her chest that aren't attached and are soft; they are not cancerous but are fatty lipomas. Sending prayers and healing thoughts for Sasha.
