Odd time for a doctor's appt

Odd time for a doctor's appt

DH has to see a specialist, and they gave him an appt for 10pm!!!  We thought for sure his primary doc had made a mistake!  I've never heard of appts at this time, but it was correct.  But he was able to get it changed to a more reasonable 315pm...whew!

Kaiser sometimes does this if you need an appointment the same day you call for one. When my DS #1 was about 16, I had to drive to Roseville (about 45 mi. away) for an 8 p.m. appointment, but at least they got us in without having to wait two weeks.

This isn't Kaiser, and it's not until April 10.  Don't doctor's need to sleep...?

Maybe they're a doctor's office that realizes that not everyone works 9-5?

      Don't doctor's need to sleep...?

Sure Smile but I'll bet that clinics that stay open that late have different shifts that the doctors work. Some doctors will go home a 4 p.m. and others will be just starting.

Of course we don't need sleep ;) There are quite a few that have evening clinics around los angeles. It's really nice for patients who work full-time and have a hard time getting away during the day. There is one here at cedars who has clinics from 3-10 pm at nite and all the MD's see him as their primary doc.

Maybe that is what it is...but sheesh, we are retired and falling asleep at 9!  This town is not that big, and I had just never heard of an appt at that hour.

My hubby goes to a similar clinic here.  The hours aren't as late...they are open until 9 or 10 I think.  He has a really hard time gettng off work to go to the Dr and when he needs to go, he usually needs to go that day if possible.  The nice thing about the one here is that he can check in online and then wait at home.  They call him 30 minutes before they are ready to see him to give him time to get there.  Since they don't take appts at this one, it is nice not to have to wait forever in the office.  Plus, I can check him in online a little while before he would leave work and either go straight there or come home, eat some dinner and then head over there when they call.  Even with an appt, I always end up waiting forever at my Dr.

Slightly off topic, we had a car maintenance place that worked until 2AM. I miss that place. I could drop my car off after work and pick it up later. I think it is nice 'some' places trying to help the working world. I realize they work too (meaning they are not working 9-5 to accommodate) but it is still nice.

I work odd hours since I teach dog training classes (11am to 7 or 9pm) and it makes doing my errands soooo much easier since I'm free when most places are open.  I also work Tues-Sat so I have Monday off which has the same benefit.  :)

oh wow... i wish i had that! i realize it's not for everyone, but for someone working 9-5 it's really nice! i'm having a hard time with time issues right now. i work 9-6, and have been sick 3-4 times this year, the last time i missed a whole week of work. now my bosses are SUPER nice and accomodating, but i feel bad, and plus i am sick and tired of mising out on work things when i am in a position where i am trying to prove myself to get a promotion this year! and everything important is only mon-fri 9-5. paying my bills (at the bank) getting my visa things done, doctor's apointments. it's a freaking pain. i love my work and i hate missing it....
