    Rats, anyone? NDR

Ok, so maybe this isn't quite dog-related, but I thought I'd share some pictures of my ratties because I know there are at least a few on this forum who have owned/own them.

Some of you may remember me posting about this little girl (Dune) when I first got her over the summer...well she's just about full grown now and beautiful as ever!

    My other girlie, Rainy Jane:

    Is spaghetti time.  Cool

Awww! :P Very cute- I love that verybirk girl's markings!

I've only got two girls at the moment, Luci (black self) and Zuma (smeeze), but rats ROCK.

I'm not really a rat fan... but your guys are really cute!

    Aw, they're lovely!

I'm ratless for the first time in quite awhile. I did get to cuddle with a big squishy ratboy the other day at work while we xrayed his leg, so that was nice.  My Isis was a doulbe rex and I'd love another, but double rexes are pretty much unheard of around here sadly

Rats are great!  I had a couple of males a few years ago, Roach and Tuff.  I love Rainy Jane's coloring!

The spagetti picture is so funny.  It's like Ratatouille meets Lady and the Tramp.

I wouldn't say I disliked rats before my friend got hers but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to having one or two now.  They're cute and fun and would entertain Joey for hours Yes.  Or vice versa!

Ohhh, you are making my heart just ache! I used to own ratties, the most wonderful, beautiful rats whom I loved just about as much as my dogs. They are such smart, loving, amazing creatures and I miss owning them so much. My DH is completely against having rats in his house, he thinks they are dirty. Sad  I have tried numerous times to tell him how completely wrong he is, what wonderful pets they make, but he is just not a rat guy. I hope in time he'll let me bring in a couple. At one point I had 13 rats, all with their own special personality, they were so much fun, espicially when they came out for their "free time", they would just get into everything! My heart rat was a black berk girl named Moth that was more human than rat, I miss her so much. Thank you for sharing your pictures, and give those babies some scritches for me!

I've never had a rat but I've had friends that have.  They are really cool little creatures.  Yours are really pretty.  Dune looks like she's a little character.  I LOVE the spaghetti shot.

They're pretty spectacular pets, really.  I haven't had another rodent that was anywhere near as dog-like as my rats have always been.  They're super smart, can learn tricks and their names, want nothing more than to be with their people (even when they have free range of a room they'll keep running back to get you to play with them) and they LICK!   Dune is the lickiest rat I've ever had - it's like constant kisses coming from that little bugger.  So sweet!

The best way to help people get over their uneasiness with rats is to have them meet some super-friendly ones.  It's pretty hard to turn away from something that's trying to lick your fingers Wink  My gals have converted many a rat-hater before, one of them being my father.

Hopefully I'm going to be getting two more little ratgirls this summer, both of which will probably be Dune's nieces.  So excited!

Rats are fun little pets.  Lots of personality and very friendly, especially when they have been socialised properly.  I had a good friend in high school who had a couple.  When I went over to hang out one of them would run up to me, beg to be picked up, and then crawl into my shirt.

They're cuuuuuuute! I love that they eat spaghetti.
